Okay, we have what 5 IA solo albums:

Walk Into Light
Divinities
SLOB
Rupi
and TAAB2

Anyone interested in creating their own "best of" compilation from these albums. Let's say 15 songs total.

Who wants to go first?

Ignoring Divinities. It doesn't fit with this crowd, IMO. An album that should stand alone.

Best Of Ian Anderson:
Fly By Night
Walk Into Light
Looking for Eden
Different Germany
The Secret Language Of Birds
The Secret Language Of Birds, Pt II
Lost In Crowds
A Raft Of Penguins
Banker Bets, Banker Wins
Adrift and Dumfounded
Old School Song
Wootton Bassett Town
Power and Spirit
A Change of Horses
Kismet in Suburbia

Repeating;
Comparing Ian Anderson solo albums for me;
Walk Into Light & SLOB are perfect. I enjoy TAAB2 much more than Rupi's Dance as a whole piece.

Strengths of Rupi's Dance
Calliandra Shade (The Cappuccino Song)
Lost In Crowds
A Raft Of Penguins
A Week Of Moments
A Hand Of Thumbs
Pigeon Flying Over Berlin Zoo
Not Ralitsa Vassileva

Strengths of TAAB2
Banker Bets, Banker Wins
Adrift and Dumfounded
Old School Song
Wootton Bassett Town
Power and Spirit
Give Till It Hurts
A Change of Horses
Kismet in Suburbia

Hmmm...that's a tough one. Walk Into Light is dreadful, and sounds like New Wave Tull. Divinities is New Age Tull (add Enya and the Windham Hill label to complete the effect ;D). But if I were to come up with 10 or 12 songs (the usual greatest hits package, with at least 2 from each album, except for Walk Into Light, which I could barely pick one), then I'd choose:

Fly By Night (particulary D. Palmer's version on "A Classic Case")
In the Grip of Stronger Stuff
In the Pay of Spain
Water Carrier
Stormont Shuffle
Sanctuary
Calliandra Shade
Old Black Cat
Rupi's Dance
Adrift and Dumfounded
Old School Song
Give Till It Hurts
