greetings from Dooovall (Daniel S. Duvall) « Thread Started on Nov 16, 2011, 5:41pm »
I first got into Tull in 1988 via the 20 Years 3-CD box set and Crest of a Knave. I've since grown to appreciate many of the songs from the various eras of Tull, particularly the Dave Pegg Years. Pegg kindly let me sit in for him for five minutes as a guest bassist with Fairport Convention on 18 September 2002 (with Gerry Conway on drums) -- you can see/hear footage from this event here: https://plus.google.com/106277625338134824916/videos

Welcome Daniel to the best place in virtual space. Awesome story and great video. My wife loves your cats too. We have a cat named Chauncey that looks like David Bowie. This is not Chauncey but looks like David Bowie too. Chauncey says Welcome! Chauncey the Tull Cat.

Welcome Daniel, and what a great video and story!
That period of Tull, 87-90 was a great time for Tull, and I believe Dave Pegg was a big reason why.

Jtull07, I see you too have a Turkish Van Cat (the same breed as my Thalia). Wikipedia says that this breed is highly intelligent and can swiftly take over a home and an owner. I've certainly found these characteristics to be true in Thalia's case.
TM, I'm glad that Dave Pegg's absence from Tull has led to a fruitful era for Fairport Convention, but often I listen to recordings from his time with Tull and wish he'd be invited to at least do a full album session with present-day Tull (though I doubt if he'd have time for a Tull tour given how active Fairport Convention remains). I'd love to hear Pegg, Ian, Martin, and Doane together presenting fresh material one more time.

Hey, Dooovall! Lurking around this board somewhere is my Gordie doing a smashing impression of Ian. A very highly discerning cat is my Gordie. He's not a Turkish Van but he's done a bang-up job of taking over the house. Bet Jeff could tell us exactly where to find him. Jeff? Jeff?

Welcome to The Jethro Tull Board, Daniel, you've found a great place to freely share your ideas, stories and opinions about Tull and non-Tull subjects alike.
I loved the Portmeirion video, it's one of my favorite Fairport Convention pieces....it must have been a great experience playing guest bass with those guys! Dave Pegg is so cool to invite you to do that.
Looking forward to chatting with you here in the future
