Hi. I've not posted for a long time, but felt I have to tell you all how great tonights gig was. So here goes. It was superb. If you don't have a ticket, get one quickly. The first was excellent. Plenty of surprises through out. I won't spoil it for you, but Ian gets plenty of help with the vocals from Ryan which works really well. The songs from taab 2 stand up alongside the oridginal album very well and Ian sings great. Thought the whole show the band rock, with Scott the drummer a real highlight for me. Really want to go again. A must see show.
I was at Blackburn too - agree with everything Mikeytull says. Totally excellent, though just a little worried that Ian is still struggling with vocals (on TAAB1 only) and later on the tour might be tough. Ryan O'Donnell really helps - was a great idea. Afterwards I got to meet Ryan and John O'Hara for a quick word, autograph and photo. Pics to follow if I can get time to upload them. Won't say much more so I don't spoil it for those intending to go, except - if you haven't booked yet, why are you waiting? It wasn't house full tonight and it should have been.
Sadly Brick has given Ian trouble for quite some time. There was point when I hoped he would just shelf it forever.
Maybe he can give more of the vocals to Ryan?
Great idea Paul. I can enjoy a new vocalist on this tour as much as I enjoy watching Ian play his instruments. That is why this tour is so special. Fresh vocals for a new album and a new vocalist with style.
Thanks for posting your thoughts on Blackburn guys.
I am still buzzing after Sheffield and am even missing my footie team Stockport County last homegame to get to Harrogate tonight
Not really a sacrifice
It s a pity the show was not full....I contemplated going but there did not appear to be any good seats left...
At Sheffield the audience were bemused by the ending and clearly expected an encore. I can see where Ian is coming from on this .....but some how it did not feel right. I think this tour can only get better ..I would not be suprised if Ryan takes over an increasing amount of the vocal duties as the tour progresses. It may be the only way Ian / Tull will be able to continue as a touring band.
Were you able to identify / remember Ians , JE , JHH position on the old school photograph. If you can please see my Sheffield thread as I was unable to locate them on the photo

I though Ryan reall brought the character of Gerald Bostock to life in his performance. Maybe a little bit " musical theatre" but overall a great addition.
yeah the show was great , the sound was really great , just one gripe ...why did the venue have a poster advertising the show with martin and duoane on it when they are not playing ?? very misleading.
i dont think this poster should have been outside the venue !! very misleading...dont you think ??. come on ian get it right !! ( or was it wishfull thinking ?? ) .

nags, not scare the real fans off, but you would think ian would make a point of getting the venue poster ...for all to see ...right !!! no prob if florian and whatever the new drummers name is ?? cant quite remember it !! although he was good !! very misleading for some folk, personnally i already knew martin wasent gonna be there so dident matter to me..its the principal and not very..proffesional.
