Hi, I was wondering when Warchild might be playing again? I saw their last two shows at Sullivan and thought they were great. They've went missing since. Thanks, Paulie
Hi, Paulie, and welcome to The Jethro Tull Board! In answer to your question, I have asked Mike the same thing but as of now they do not have any dates planned. I think there was one show since the Halloween show, but it was somewhere upstate, and I couldn't go.
The problem is that Nursie and the bassist, Bob, have recently moved to New Hampshire, so it's harder for the band to get together for practices and gigs.
However, they did have a practice fairly recently and I cannot imagine that they will not do any shows over the summer. I'm guessing that War Child will probably do a few shows between now and August, and possible even one with Marcie and Paul, the former frontman of The Dayglo Pirates, who will be visiting in July.
Check the board for further updates, or you can go to War Child's website or FB page.

Thanks for the welcome Jeff. It would be a shame if they broke up. They seem to be the only Tull tribute band in N.Y. and a great one at that. It amazed me how they went the whole ten yards with their dress, celo, violins and glock to make their shows as close to the Jethro Tull experience as possible. Well, I hope they continue to play some shows this summer since the closest Tull is coming to N.Y. is Chicago this tour. I'll definately be monitoring this board and hope they'll play soon. Thanks again for the welcome. Paulie

Hi New Yorkers, I thought since Warchild is a N.Y. city based band and they seem to be on a extended hiatus from playing, I thought I might list some shows I'm going to in the near future since most of the people on this board are from this area. 6/14-15/11 Deep Purple-Beacon 6/16/11 Robiin Trower-B.B. King's 8/7/11 Reflections-B.B. King's 8/18/11 Levon Helm Band-Central Park 8/19/11 David Bromberg Band-N.Y.C. Winery 10/7-8/11 J.G.B. Band-Brooklyn Bowl 12/9-10/11 Hot Tuna-Beacon I hope I can add some Warchild gigs to this list soon and I hope it's helpfull to the N.E.eners on this board.

WARCHILD will be returning to Sullivan Hall in NYC on Sat. July 30th (6:30-8:30pm), with special guests Paul and Marcie Forrest, as the opening act, doing an Acoustic Tribute to Tull, followed by WARCHILD and it's "electric" tribute! Many of you Tull fans have known Paul Forrest as the fabulous frontman for the fantastic British Tull Tribute band "Dayglo Pirates", and he had the amazing opportunity to perform WITH Jethro Tull themselves at one of their 40th Anniversary tour concerts (@ Bournemouth); he and Marcie (also a wonderful flautist and singer) have joined forces to put out an acoustic album as "Sossity" and are now performing as an original act in Israel named "Footsteps". Also, on Fri. July 22nd, they will be putting on a 2 hr. (6-8pm) Footsteps show at P & G Bar in NYC (with both originals and Tull covers). Details are available at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/PGs-Bar-and-Grill/15834107345 AND www.sullivanhallnyc.com

That's great, Mike, I'm sure it will be a tremendous show, sort of like a Tull supertribute band. It will be fun to see "dueling Paul-ians" together on stage! Plus, I think Marcie and Paul are still doing a gig at P&Gs a few nights earlier, from what I recall. Do you know anything about that?
How's everything? I've been crazy busy at work lately. Let's go to lunch next week.

The P & G show is mentioned in my posting above (at the end), and I'll be sitting in with Paul and Marcie for a few songs. I've seen their set list and they are both "can't miss" shows, but I won't spoil the surprises...you'll just have to make it to both! Also, we just booked another concert at Sellersville Theater in Sellersville, Pennsylvania for Fri. Aug. 5th, during which we'll be performing 2 sets, including the entire Aqualung album live as it still the 40th anniversary of the album.....any Tull fans on the board from the Sellersville area out there?
Look forwarding to seeing you again, and maybe I could play that Eddie Jobson keyboard solo that he did on the "A" Tull tour for you! (and I don't mean Alaska) lol

That would be cool! And if you don't mind I'd love to hear Easy Living too!

LOL That was going to be my joke at first, but I couldn't remember the name of the song.....

Hi, I had a great time at the Footsteps show. It was nice meeting you guys and gals from Footsteps and Warchild. Can someone give me the timeline for Saturday at Sullivan? What time does Footsteps go on and off and the same for Warchild? Thanks, Paulie

Hi everybody, I just wanted to thank Paul and Marcie and Warchild for a great night of Tull tunes. I really dig Jethro Tull. Rainbow blues was a pleasant surprise, perfect for the violins and cello. It was nice of everyone to sign your poster I liberated from the lobby. It's a shame more people couldn't come out and enjoy the concert but you can blame Sullivan for that. They left the show off their ad in the Voice until the week of the show. Well, thanks again and hope to be seeing you play again in N.Y.C. soon.
P.S.Robb and Renee, I told you about knowing the manager of the Iridium and you said you played there before so you know the place and the people there. For a gig there call Ron at (917)294-4908 or (917)794-4908 (I can't make out the first #. I's either a 2 or a 7). Tell him Paulie, from the Jorma show, Popa Chubby's friend told you to call. They were willing to pay Popa $4,000 but since you're eight people he may offer more. Also, it was nice meeting you Jeff. Great board!

Hey, Paulie,
It was nice to meet you too, because you had been posting here for awhile, and we've been talking about War Child, and since I've been to most local WC shows, you had me trying to figure out who you were!
I am glad you like the board, and look forward to seeing you around here, and at future WC shows in the future. (Also, did you know there is a NYC Jethro Tull Meetup Group that gets together every couple of months?)

Thanks Jeff, I recognized you right away from your picture on this board. Sorry I couldn't stick around and chat after the show but something important came up and I had to leave. As for the Tull group meeting, I would love to attend and swap stories of old Tull shows. I'd appreciate it if you let me know when and where the next one is. Also I read on the board that you're good friends with Warchild's keyboard player, can you tell him two venues I know of in Brooklyn are looking for bands to play? The Brooklyn Bowl Southpaws The subway stops close to both and the BQE has an exit close to The Brook. Bowl. If he needs there phone # s let me know. Take Care, Paulie

New venue, sounds great. Question for Jeff or somebody in Warchild. I'm going to see Hot Tuna at the Beacon Theatre this Saturday night which is just a few blocks from The Triad. Would any of you guys know the hours their box office is open, if they have one at all and only sell tickets online
