I guarantee it that they are a great tribute band, I have seen them everything they perform in NYC I think. I go out my way to support these real quiet awesome tribute band, They even have a string quartet, which also they happen to be great friendly people.

Hey Darkside, I agree totally with you. Besides beeing a band of talented musicians, they're also very nice and friendly people to boot. Your user name suggests to me you like Pink Floyd. If so there's a great Floyd tribute band playing B.B. King's in N.Y.C. on December 29 and 30 called The Machine. If you are a Floyd fan and are interested in going, you are better off going the 30.The 29th is usually short cause they go all out on the 30th with 3 sets. Hope this info's helpful to you
New venue, sounds great. Question for Jeff or somebody in Warchild. I'm going to see Hot Tuna at the Beacon Theatre this Saturday night which is just a few blocks from The Triad. Would any of you guys know the hours their box office is open, if they have one at all and only sell tickets online
Paulie, The Triad doesn't have a box office, so it's best to get tix in advance online, rather than waiting until the night of the show, as there is limited seating. If you want though, I can meet you before or after Hot Tuna on Sat. night (I live right across from the Beacon) to arrange how to get you tix for our show. Mike

Thanks Mike, I always hit the box offices of venues I'm going to so I don't have to pay extra for the fees they charge you when purchasing online. Well, I guess I have no choice with The Triad if there's no box. It must be great living right there by the Beacon. I've seen many, many shows there over the years. I was good friends with Big Mike who was head of security there. He used to let me in the back door for $10 a show for close to 15 years until he passed away. Thanks for the offer to help me with purchasing tickets for your gig but I'll just get them online. Im' looking foward to seeing Warchild again.
Happy Holidays to you and the rest of the band, Paulie

Well, I picked up a ticket online for Warchild 1/14 at the Triad. Question: Is this ticket good for the whole evening including the Beatle tribute band before Warchild goes on or only gets you in at 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm for Warchild? I'm looking foward to seeing you guys again. Always a great time!

Paulie, Each show has a separate admission price, so your ticket is only for WARCHILD-- but you will still have a great time! Lookin forward to seeing you at the show -- we just had a rehearsal today to go over the whole show and we think it should be a good one. Mike

Paulie,

So, Mike, that means War Child will be playing twice as long for the same ticket price, right?

Jeff,
We'll still be playing for the same amount of time but we' ll be playing Beatles songs with Tullian flute for those that meant to go to the opening act. Or maybe we should combine songs: "Aqualung Came In Thru The Bathroom Window", "Let It Be Thick As A Brick", "Cross Eyed Mary In The Sky With Diamonds"?

Greetings and good evening. As I posted on Warchild's Myspace page last night, we thoroughly enjoyed the show at that awesome little venue known as the Triad Theatre and are very much looking forward to the next gig! Great job by the entire band.

Warchild, Thank you for a great evening of music from Jethro Tull. Everyone was great but Mike's piano solo was exceptional. Also, I met your wife in the lobby Mike and she is really nice. Hope to see all you guys and gals again soon. Paulie P.S.: That piano solo's called "A song about everything"' right?

It was another great show by War Child, particularly the second set, when some adjustments were made to the house sound system, which only added to War Child's dynamic and powerful performance. I was hanging out mostly with Jim Haddad and Laura of the Jethro Tull Meetup Group, and later with Mike, Barry Goldberg and Laura Massero.
Sorry I missed you there Paulie, and same goes to Anthony and Bobby (and Old Rocker if he was there.) With the two levels, upstairs and downstairs, it was harder to meet up with people, which is a shame because I was hoping to meet some new board members.
I did of course speak with several Tull fans I met at the show, who I did not know before, and showed them the Board on my blackberry. There were at least three people who said they will be signing up here, but so far they have not, so I guess we shall see.
Mike has definitely mastered By Kind Permission of. This time I thought he added a little variation that was not on the Living in the Past Carnegie Hall performance. Perhaps he got that bit from a recording of a subsequent performance of the same piece by John Evans.

Thanks Paulie and Jeff! Yes, it is "By Kind Permission Of...", which John Evans performed at Carnegie Hall and the Isle of Wight shows, and includes borrowed pieces of compositions by Beethoven and Rachmaninoff (hence the title), as well as John Evans original music. I did an edited version (due to time constraints), but also added a short section I came up with myself, during the Rachmaninoff bit, in the style of John Evans, which I'm glad you noticed, Jeff!

Mike, I have a friend who runs a club in Vermont called Higher Ground and I told him about your band and how much I enjoy your shows. He would love for you guys to go up and play there. I just saw Johnny Winter there,it's a great venue. If you are interested I can give you his # and just give him a call. Paulie

Unbridled passion from WARCHILD, NY's Tull Tribute band, taking the bit in their teeth performing "Hunting Girl" from Jethro Tull's 1977 album "Songs From The Wood" live at the Triad Theater in NYC on 1/14/12.

Very well done!
Don't think I've ever heard anyone try to tackle that one. How difficult is it to play?
