 Hitting the Road

Jethro Tull's Martin Barre is currently assembling a band in the hope of hitting the road to perform lesser known tracks from the folk rockers back catalogue.

"I want to play some of the songs that we haven’t done in a very long time," Barre tells Ultimate Classic Rock of the plans to dip back into the band’s catalog. "I really am not tired of playing those songs. I enjoy them."

As lead guitarist of the Tull since 1969 Barre is behind such Tull classics as 'Aqualung' & 'Locomotive Breathe' and has appeared on every album other than their début 'This Wish'.

The Birmingham born guitarist & flautist is currently tapping up former Tull members for the tour although Barre doesn't plan to include a vocalist with a similar styling to that of Tulls frontman & founder Ian Anderson.

"You can’t imitate Ian’s vocals," said Barre ""I want something that’s really very different."

Barre is currently in the process of finalizing details of the project and will announce 2012 tour dates in the near future.
