Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson TAAB 1&2 Tour in Istambul- Turkey 10 Sept 2012 More pictures and all information on this link: http://www.tullturk.com/2012/ian12.html
Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson kicked off the U.S. leg of his Thick as a Brick Tour on Tuesday in Miami Beach, Florida. The fall outing not only celebrates the 40th anniversary of Tull's chart-topping 1972 concept album, but also showcases its sequel, Thick as a Brick 2, which the singer-flutist released back in April. Anderson and his backing group, which is made up mainly of members of the current Tull lineup, are playing both albums in their entirety on the trek.
Anderson ABC News Radio that the new stage show offers fans something of a multimedia spectacle that helps convey the stories and themes featured in the two albums, which focus on the life of a fictional character named Gerald Bostock. He also notes that the new concerts are quite a bit more involved than the ones Tull played in support of Thick as a Brick when it first was released.
"The original performance of Thick as a Brick on the relatively few tours that we did in '72 did feature some slightly surreal, very amateurish little theatrical interludes," the singer says. "I've expanded upon those using technology and audiovisual, as well as live performance on the stage in terms of theatrical moments."
Going into specifics about what concertgoers will experience at the 2012 Thick as a Brick shows, Anderson says, "Sometimes you just focus entirely on the live music being played. Sometimes you see some close-ups of musicians actually performing bits. Sometimes you see some corresponding piece of visual, whether it's stills or whether it's video footage, which is in keeping with the lyrics. Sometimes it's stuff that's much more abstract."
Anderson also says that since the lyrical content of the Thick as a Brick albums "is a little dark," some of the audio-visual interludes are meant to make the audiences laugh.
"I have to try and create light and shade," he points out. "I have to take people through some emotional experience, and not just have it work on one dimension."
The next stop on Anderson's 40th anniversary Thick as a Brick Tour is in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Wednesday. The U.S. trek is mapped out through a November 5 concert in Newark, Ohio. Anderson then will launch a new European leg that's scheduled from mid November until early December.
As announced last week, a deluxe 40th anniversary edition of Tull's Thick as a Brick will be released on November 5.

If it's okay with Shona Anderson then it's okay with Mrs. JTull 07
I think you get a clear clue to Tull's future around the 2:30 mark, where in the introduction Ian talks about things being in "transition" between "his band" and Jethro Tull. Blur the lines, and then reconstitute as the next Jethro Tull, the other side of the transition. Will be interesting to see.

This is the comment that is in the tube: "They were very strict about cameras so i really didn't bother. I chose to enjoy the show. Thick as a Brick I and II. Ian's voice was fantastic. Unlike some reviews i read about. This encore we walked right up front and EVERYBODY was using their cameras. SORRY IAN, I should be able to record, I bought my ticket." Apparently the problem to record are the same as in Spain, I also see that there are encores, not sure if it also removed some songs TAAB2...

Has anyone been to a show yet this spring? Any thoughts on bringing a camera in? Acoustics?
And, I'm curious will they put seats in the open, roped off area or will the rows start w/ the permanent seats? I.e. is row #1 the first permanent seat row?
