Silver Pipe is the Chicago area's premier Tull tribute band, whose members will hopefully be joining us here very soon!

In the meantime, here they are doing a magnificent Black Sunday from the superb and underrated A album. However, they do it with the refreshing twist of 'In a Stone Circle' as an intro!

And here, the Pipers rock Cross-Eyed Mary's world:

You must have seen these guys before, Tullist Ray, no?

Not only are the premier one, I am quite certain they are the only one that has ever existed in Chicago. Due to my financial cul de sac of recent years I have seen jack including Tull, (save for the Ian acoustic band at one of two venues where I am connected.)If I ever resurface with expendable capital likely I would make the effort, am always interested in people who have certifiable Tull disease, the more trains spotted, the mo better. They are myspace friends, they seem to play far to the south side, 35 or so sometimes difficulty traversed miles. I was impressed with those Italian guys take on For Later, however as with pretty nearly all covers of Tull I have seen with the conceivable exception of Paul Forrest and whoever that Italian guy is who sometimes does covers on You Tube, whenever any one other than Ian Anderson opens their mouth and attempts to sing like him I generally recoil, leaving me uncertain that it is something that can be satisfyingly imitated. And I think most everyone I have seen who trys to dress as he does or once did, it just does not come off well.

We are pleased to welcome new member "silverpipesteve," the lead singer and guitarist for the superb Chicago-area Tull tribute band, Silver Pipe. Welcome here, Steve!

Dale, who is the guitarist, has already been with us for quite some time, and of course we invite the other guys in the band to our rapidly-growing community.

Silver Pipe has just announced that they will be playing a show on June 10th, with the details of when and where to be announced shortly. We will have a further announcement here soon, when those details are released.

You can follow the Silver Pipeheads on their Facebook and myspace pages:
