OAK is a dynamic and well-known Italian tribute band who has played at several Itullian Conventions, jamming with other Tull tribute band members, including if I'm not mistaken, Marcie and Paul of Sossity/Footsteps, and many Tull members over the years. Their former guitarist, Lorenzo, has recently started a separate tribute band called Undertull, previously featured here in our Tull Tribute Band Department.
There are quite a few OAK videos on youtube, so for now I will start off with these powerful selections:
Aqualung - OAK, with guests Dave Pegg and Gerry Conway:
Nothing is Easy - OAK featuring a mohawked Glenn Cornick at the 2008 Itullian Convention:
My God - pure OAK:
We will be returning to this OAK thread from time to time to add more videos of this great Tull tribute act.

Yes indeed Jeff, we had the pleasure of playing with Oak at the Itullians convention in 2008.
Here is our rendition of "Jeffrey Goes to Leicester Square" with Glenn Cornick guesting on bass.
And here is a little peak at the pre-performance huddle Jerry Cutillo (Oak's frontman) and I had to work out the intricacies. (Glenn was really into this one as you can see! )

Thanks for posting that video and photo, Marcie.
I am planning to do a separate thread on Sossity in the future, and your appearance at the 2008 convention, with some additional videos, including your rendition of Wond'ring Again, one of my four or five favorite all-time Tull songs!
And I am going to return to the Dayglo Pirates thread and add some videos there too, but I've got a lot more Tull tribute bands to introduce here first. There are more of them than I expected!

Continuing with this thread, the OAK-ies are one of Italy's premier Tull tribute bands, who make perennial appearances at the Itullian Convention (usually accompanied by various former members of Tull and other special guests), including, I imagine, the upcoming Itullian convention next month.
In honor of OAK frontman Jerry Cutillo having joined The Jethro Tull Board -- Welcome, Jerry! -- here are some additional videos and information on OAK, whose Tull tribute act is only one part of what they do, as I have now learned, albeit a very important part, but they also have carved out an interesting niche for themselves by blending progressive/symphonic rock with the music of different ethnic tribes.
Here's the link and some information from their website, describing OAK's music as "The old and new prog symphonies with Siberian sounds and music and....the magical Jethro Tull Tribute!"
"The band was formed in 1993 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Jerry Cutillo, a well known artist involved in the ethnic music research, composer of important TV tunes and also famous, together with a nucleus of excellent musicians, for his Jethro Tull tribute where OAK represents the essence of the performance and technical ability of Ian Anderson's band."
OAK's fascinating story -- which includes not only the Tull tribute aspect of the band, but also their own original recordings, influenced by ethnic music, particularly native Siberian musical traditions -- can be found by clicking the link below.
OAK, which incidentally stands for Oscillazioni Alchemiche Kompressi (translation, please) have recently released a new CD of original Siberian prog-rock called "Shaman's Feet" which features contributions by Glenn Cornick, Maartin Allcock and Jonathan Noyce.
Welcome again to "Jerryoaktull"!
Jeff
P.S. As we have seen with Tony from Heresy, and now Jerry from OAK, and of course Marcie and Paul, some of these Tull tribute front(wo)men are very interesting characters who are involved in serious projects of their own, aside from only doing just Tull!
