Rainbow Blues

And I waved at the stage door-keeper
said, "Mister, get me to the stage on time."
Oh, but the rain wasn't made of water
and the snow didn't have a place in the sun
so I slipped behind a rainbow
and waited till the show had done.

Runrig
The Cutter

Now the blade cuts clean through the island soil
The years roll back and the world grows small
You stand on the banks in the wind and the rain

Jethro to begin a new and exciting monthly ride, this time Rain, a good proposal by our dear "thinker" Greg. Thanks :-/

Let me bring you songs from the wood:
to make you feel much better than you could know.
Dust you down from tip to toe.
Show you how the garden grows.
Hold you steady as you go.
Join the chorus if you can:
it'll make of you an honest man.
Let me bring you love from the field:
poppies red and roses filled with summer rain.
To heal the wound and still the pain
that threatens again and again
as you drag down every lover's lane.
Life's long celebration's here.
I'll toast you all in penny cheer.
Let me bring you all things refined:
galliards and lute songs served in chilling ale.
Greetings well met fellow, hail!
I am the wind to fill your sail.
I am the cross to take your nail:
A singer of these ageless times.
With kitchen prose and gutter rhymes.
Songs from the wood make you feel much better.

I haven't been around, so I don't know if I am playing right but...

Tomorrow is the one day I would change for a Monday
with freezing rains melting and no trains running
and sad eyes passing in windows flimsy
and my seat rocking from legs not quite matching
Got passport, credit cards, a plane that I'm catching
Black Sunday falls one day too soon

Winds howled. Rains spit down.
All these nights playing precious games.
Cheap hotel in some seaboard town
closed down for the winter and whispered names.
Puppy-dog waves on a big moon sea
snap our heels half-heartedly
and how come you know better than me
that this is not love.
No, this is not love.

:-X NO, NO, NO My God, ;D it was going to be my stellar post for today, all was ready after arriving of my long bike ride, this is a catastrophe :D What a song and album!!
in any manner congrats jiofee, you won this time, it's The Game. :P Great your whole batch. ;)
I have to say and IMHO this song features one of the best guitar solo of history, played brilliantly by R. Fripp, not the best though.

@Mothfairy, that's terrific. I did attend a show of the A album at the Barcelona bullring in 1981, it was divine being present as attending this song at starting the concert. Thanks for joining, we have two more threads about Winds & Ships running, all the posted songs are alphabetically ordered on the lists punctually updated to check if they have been already sent :P

@Morthoron, great suggestions.

Welcome tonyt, thanks for your ones.

icy Lucifer, another great song.

Paul & Charlie, very well done starting with two Tull's gems

Now the sum breaks through rain as I climb Glen Shiel
on the trail of those old cattlemen who drove their bargain south again.
And in the eyes of those five sisters of Kintail
there's a wink of seduction from the mainland.

I am bored this morning and the coffee is surprisingly good...and unusually plentiful.

I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm continuing
Tapping on my roof and walls

(Beautiful song)

I am so sorry, Serge! :( I didn't mean to rain on your parade or steal your thunder! At least that great song found its way here, whoever posted it.

A few more, starting with another of my favourite Decemberists tracks:

It's been a record year for rainfall.

David Bowie. Five Years.

And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor.

Adele. Set Fire To The Rain.

Captain Beefheart. My Head Is My Only House Unless It Rains.

Cheers,
Jioffe.

Likely the representative Deadhead in this group so posting a few, though I lack the simple knowledge of posting where the video is actually visible, as most or all of video posting is normally to Facebook. So if this works right it will be by accident.
The Grateful Dead have so many weather related songs that I think I better keep it to where its actually in the title. Things like Cold Rain and Snow were often used to good effect when the actual weather was thus.

We'll find it hard to top this beautiful Beth Orton duet with M Ward of Dylan's "Buckets of Rain".

A Hard Rain Is A-Gonna Fall - Bryan Ferry

After the rain everything is plenty of beauty, water is undoubtedly fully necessary to survive over this planet, humans, nature, plants, trees, rivers and mainly Life couldn't exist on this world without, so please be concerned with taking care the Nature. The sloth is wishing you'll do it. :P

The spectacle after the rain is another matchless strong point to delight in.
