The song remains the same - "Sweet Calcutta rain.."

The eagle eyed amongst you might notice this isn't Zepp, but there is a very, very tenuous Tull link to the band ......any guesses

As I sit here, waiting for the postman to arrive, here are three more offerings, all from The Lads, with a pluvial connection.

A Passion Play.

But the rain only gets in sometimes and the sun never leaves you alone.

John Barleycorn.

They've let him lie for a long long time,
till the rains from heaven did fall.

And, since homonyms seem to be OK here, Heavy Horses.

A rein of polished leather.

Hey Mr Postman look and see
If there's a CD in your bag for me!

Cheers,
Jioffe.

Eric Clapton

Let It Grow

Standing at the crossroads
trying to read the signs
To tell me which way I shouldgo
to find the answerAnd all the time I know
Plant your love and let it grow.
Let it growlet it grow
Let it blossom
let it flowIn the sun
the rain the snow
Love is lovely
let it grow.

Let It Rain

E

Let It Rain

The Rain Is Falling Through The Mist Of Sorrow That Surrounded Me.
The Sun Could Never Thaw Away The The Bliss That Lays Around Me.

Witch's Promise

Leaves falling red, yellow, brown, all are the same,
and the love you have found lay outside in the rain
Washed clean by the water but nursing its pain.
The witch's promise was coming, and you're looking
elsewhere for your own selfish gain.

Giverny
Books may burn and rain may fall
But what is here, I know will last
Forever more
Colours change there are no defines
She was love itself

one of those sort of guilty pleasure songs, I think its very well sung.
http://youtu.be/65L1G6A9Z9A Dramatics I Wanna Go Outside In The Rain
Is it stretching it a bit to include Somewhere Over The Rainbow? Pretty sure not, though its one of those songs its probably hard to do a bad version of, this version by Sarah Vaughan is my favorite. Actually my favorite is her version on an album of hers from the period called "Sassy Swings The Tivoli, but this will suffice since that ain't up there.
http://youtu.be/hs58v0rKQgY
Probably covered by every folkie ever born but my tribe is Grateful, so VERY early Grateful Dead, Early Morning Rain
http://youtu.be/rPXUrD9fj9w
Probably one of the top 10 to 20 of jazz standards that nearly everyone has played, Here's That Rainy Day, here played by Bill Evans http://youtu.be/cJzIvj9IKcM
OMG, Sarah Vaughan's Tivoli version IS on You Tube, didn't used to be. Dig this. http://youtu.be/GLeCms0xfSo

Sorry to hear that, mate. If it's any consolation, mine has now arrived! ;) Those large breasted, warrior women with their little online shop, have certainly earned their sexual favours tonight! :o

Resisted the temptation to listen yet, as I had a few chores I wanted out of the way first. Did dip into a few bits of video on the DVD, though. Very interesting, as a different German once said.

Just a thought: In due deference to the original JT (and no, I don't mean John Terry!), shouldn't the phrase 'no name, no pack drill' be replaced here with 'no name, no seed drill'? ???

Cheers,
Jioffe.

First up in this odd little trilogy:

The Move, 'Flowers in the rain'

Then,

Ann Peebles - 'I can't stand the rain' [When R&B meant R&B]

Finally,

The Eurthymics 'Here comes the rain again'

Do the opening sequences in this video remind you of anything else?

A really old tune from Rob ..from 2008/9
His latest tunes are rather more convincing
Under your Spell

Lyrics-

Well it couldn't have gone on for much longer...
With every moment that you're straying, the feeling only becomes stronger.
And jealousy is a powerful tool.
It will succeed in making one boy look like such a fool.

This house is so much darker than it was before...
I mean there's ashes on the ceiling,
It feels like smoke is rising from the floor.
And won't you put that smile away,
Yeah the one that's clinging to your pretty face.

It's not a time for smiling,
Can't you see what you've done?

Although you may not realise it,
We'd all be fools to deny it.
You've got us all.
Firmly under your spell.

As you approached me in the hallway as I entered,
Immediately, I was reminded of our previous adventures...
But I shall lock such thoughts away.
Keep them in a box, save them for a rainy day.

And so I'm sitting in the corner, you parade about the place.
Maintain a dignified expression on my slowly creasing face.
And won't you put that smile away?
Yeah the one you give me every single day.

It's not a time for smiling,
Can't you see what you've done?

Although you may not realise it,
We'd all be fools to deny it.
You've got us all.
Firmly under your spell...
