Led Zeppelin -Going to California

Spent my days with a woman unkind, Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start, Going To California with an aching in my heart.
Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.
Took my chances on a big jet plane, never let them tell you that we're all the same.
The sea was red and the sky was grey; I wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today.
The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake
as the children of the sun began to awake.

Seems that the wrath of the Gods
Got a punch on the nose and it started to flow;
I think I might be sinking.
Throw me a line if I reach it in time
I'll meet you up there where the path
Runs straight and high.

To find a queen without a king,
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings... la la la la
Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born.
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems.

Thanks Janu!!! :-/

Fugazi - Marillion

Vodka intimate, an affair with isolation in a blackheath cell,
Extinguishing the fires in a private hell,
Provoking the heartache to renew the license.
Of a bleeding heart poet in a fragile capsule,
Propping up the crust of the glitter conscience.
Wrappped in the christening shard of a hangover,
baptized in tears from the real, tears from the real...
Drowning in the liquid seas on the picadilly line, rat-race,
scuttling through the damp electric labyrinth.
(Caress Ophelia's hand with breaststroke ambition,
The albatross courtship marrytime tradition.)
Sheathed with the walkman wear the halo of distortion,
aural contraceptive aborting pregnant conversation.
(But she turned the harpoon and it pierced my heart,
she hung herself around my neck.)
>From the Time-Life guardians in their conscience bubbles,
safe and dry in my sea of troubles.
Nine to Fives, with suitable ties,
While I'm cast adrift as their sideshow, (sideshow),
peepshow, (peepshow), stereo hero,
becalm, bestill, bewitch, drowning, drowning in the real...
The thief of Bagdad hides in Islington now

Taxi Grab

Shake a leg, it's the big rush,
can't find a taxi can't find a bus.
Bodies jammed in the underground
evacuating London town.
Nowhere to put your feet

Too Old To Rock n Roll: Too Young To Die

So the old Rocker gets out his bike
to make a ton before he takes his leave.
Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner
just like it used to be.
And as he flies --- tears in

First Snow On Brooklyn

Now, it's the first snow on Brooklyn and my cold feet are drumming.
You don't see me in the shadows from your cozy window frame.
And last night, who was in your parlour wrapping presents in the late hour
to place upon your pillow as the morning came?

Christmas Song

Once in Royal David's City stood a lonely cattle shed,
where a mother held her baby.
You'd do well to remember the things He later said.
When you're stuffing yourselves at the Christmas parties,
you'll just laugh when I tell you to take a running jump.
You're missing the point I'm sure does not need making
that Christmas spirit is not what you drink.

To Cry You A Song

Flying so high, trying to remember
how many cigarettes did I bring along?
When I get down I'll jump in a taxi cab
driving through London town
to cry you a song.

Cross-Eyed Mary

Who would be a poor man, a beggarman, a thief --
if he had a rich man in his hand.
And who would steal the candy
from a laughing baby's mouth
if he could take it from the money man.
Cross-eyed Mary goes jumping in again.
She signs no contract
but she always plays the game.
Dines in Hampstead village
on expense accounted gruel,
and the jack-knife barber drops her off at school.
Laughing in the playground -- gets no kicks from little boys:
would rather make it with a letching grey.
Or maybe her attention is drawn by Aqualung,
who watches through the railings as they play.
Cross-eyed Mary finds it hard to get along.
She's a poor man's rich girl
and she'll do it for a song.
She's a rich man stealer
but her favour's good and strong:
She's the Robin Hood of Highgate --
helps the poor man get along

Wild West End - Dire Straits

I'm getting a pickup for my steel guitar
I saw you walking out Shaftesbury Avenue

Made me feel nineteen for a while
And we went down to Chinatown

Portobello Belle - Dire Straits

The song tells of the story of a girl who is attracted hugely by a blind street singer who sang daily on the famous Portobello Road market situated in London Town.

And here are some pictures shot by me at Portobello Market Road on my last visit to London in June of 2010.

Free All the People (South Africa) Santana

You got to free all the people in South Africa...
You got to make life worth living in Soweto
You got to free all the people in South Africa
You got to make life worthwhile
Give reason to smile

Freedom is a birthright
Given by Jah to Man
You can not claim it...This you must understand
Who are you to decide...Who has to give it up
Know it in your heart...That it's wrong
They've had enough

Chorus:
Slavery is brutal...It steals your identity
Wherever it's living...Suffer humanity
What leads you to believe...You can treat people so
You know it isn't right...Give up the fight
Let them Go!

The Stranglers North Winds

I saw an orange robe burning
I saw a youth on fire
I saw metal machines that were turning
On a generation that hadn't yet tired
I heard of two generations being murdered
In a Europe that was shrouded in black
I witnessed the birth pains of new nations
When the chosen people finally went back
North Winds Blowing...

Coffin For Head of State- Fela Kuti

...I waka many business anywhere in Africa
I waka many business anywhere in Africa
North and South them get them policies
One Christian and the other one Muslim
Anywhere the Muslims them they reign
Na Senior Alhaji na him be Director
Anywhere the Christians them they reign
Na the best friend to Bishop na him be Director
It is a known fact that for many thousand years
We Africans we had our own traditions
These moneymaking organizations
Them come put we Africans in total confusion...

Catalan Rock

somriu i diu que no té pressa
ningú m´espera allà dalt
i anar a l´infern no m´interessa
és molt més bonic l´Empordà.

Varen passar ampolles i anys
i en Siset encara aguantava,
però ell mai no si tirava.

somriu i diu que no té pressa
ningú m´espera allà dalt
i anar a l´infern no m´interessa
és molt més bonic l´Empordà.

I quan veig la llum de l´alba
se´m treuen les ganes de marxar
potser que avui no em suïcidi
potser ho deixi fins demà

Molt Lluny de Casa - Sau
Ja torna a casa , la gent cansada
farta de tan treballar,
per un grapat de propòsits
com ens deixem enganyar

Tothom s´amaga darrera les finestres
dels cotxes que venen i van,
sense pietat els neons enlluernen
el fum surt de l´asfalt

És la vella historia,
la del somni americà
tothom sap quan arriba

Molt sovint oblides
que prop d´aquí tens el mar
pot ser una bona sortida
per si mai vos marxar
Però ara és molt tard

I en travessar el pont de Brooklin
Manhatan em sembla un gegant
em sento sol molt lluny de casa
on tu m´estàs esperant
Però ara és molt tard

El Último de la Fila - Hierbas de Asia

Saber cosas que nadie sabe;
errar contigo, "mareaditos".
"hierbas de Asia", de mil aromas;
He perdido el tiempo hundido en la prosa vil;
sol de inviernos suaves, perdidos para siempre;
a pacer en el radiante azul del ayer;
He perdido el tiempo hundido en la prosa vil;
Saber cosas que nadie sabe;
errar contigo, "mareaditos".

Increíble volver a pasar
un camino que has andado ya,
pero ahora caminando en soledad.
Soledad.

y no quise escucharle y no sé
por qué sangra en mi pecho
el recuerdo de tu amor.

Pregunté a la Luna
si era el amor
lo que brilla en tu sonrisa
con tanta ilusión
y llorando me confesaba
que quería ser para mí
y la luna me contestaba
para amar hay que sufrir
y la Luna me contestaba
yo quisiera ser para ti.
