This image was posted before in a different thread. I think Paul may have found it first.
Anyway it appears to be the alternative War Child outfit which may have been a back up design.
Another reason for this may have been damage to the original outfit while on tour. (EXPLOSIONS onstage)

Ian wore this yellow outfit when I saw Tull on 1-25-75 in Ft. Worth, TX. I never saw it again in any subsequent media photos throughout that year. I saw Tull again in August '75 and Ian was sporting the 'original' costume then. Came out in long purple coat and changed to the short coat after the first couple of songs. Shona brought it to him and helped him change.

The "yellow" suit is also called out in Kansas City 75 photos on ebay some with the purple coat with yellow part underneath. Tulltapes also has an 8mm from Spain at the end of 75, I think, wearing this little number.
@Jim I don't think the explosions ever "got" him hehehe (see 2nd video) Ian had many of (usually) the same outfits as they would be sweat soaked each night. I think there's even lyrics in a song about doing the laundry in the hotel bathroom sink using Woolight, I know I heard him talk about it before. Maybe One Whit Duck  ? I don't remember right now. That yellow outfit is gaud awful.
