Originally intended to be named Unconquered Skye, this teenage Tull tribute band, Men of Passion, hail from Colorado and was formed in 2008, by 19 year-old lead singer and flautist, Matthew Spivack, but unfortunately, they recently broke up after losing some band members, and they have since been trying to regroup under a different name. Here is a look at them, in a blur of motion, from their last show earlier this year: Don't try looking for Men of Passion videos on youtube though, unless you are interested in gay porn video ads, because that's what you will get instead! However, they do have a Myspace page with information about the band, loads of pictures and some mp3s of their Tull covers, which happen to be excellent, particularly their uptempo and extremely energetic rendition of For A Thousand Mothers! www.myspace.com/themenofpassionI am giving a shout out to Matthew, who I believe is now performing solo under the name 'New Age Minstrel', so hopefully he will be joining us here very soon! Hello everybody, Mathew Spivack here. Thank you much Jeff for the kind review. If I may, allow me to clarify a couple of things. The Men of Passoin started as a Tull tribute and was to become an original project when we lost our bass guitarist to musical differences and our drummer to the Berkley school of music. We are in the prossess of reforming the original project under the name Generation Bridge. We have a new bass guitarist and are in search of a full time drummer and keyboardist. Our last show as the Men of Passion was in May of 2009 for my Senoir Presentation of Learning, the interview/concert format for which was inspired by the Rubbing Elbows tours. Generation Bridge does perfom Tull music as faithfully as we can, including the Beacon's Bottom version of TAAB. I, Mathew Spivack (the New Age Minstrel) would still very much like to perfom as the "Ian Anderson" in a propper Tull Tribute provided I can find the right musicians to help me make it happen. Our new myspace page for Generation Bridge is still in the making, but if you have a MySpace, please add us. www.myspace.com/generationbridge Thanks again and I'm thrilled to be here.

Hello, Matthew, and thanks for joining us here, we hope you like what you find! I was very impressed by your myspace page and your versions of Tull songs, and Matty Groves as well. Please keep us apprised of current news relating to the status of your new band, Generation Bridge, and also any solo stuff that you do, and feel free to post any videos here, although you will have to upload them to youtube before you can insert them into your posts on this board. And, of course, please feel free to join in any of our discussions here, or start your own thread if there is something you would like to talk about, and it doesn't even have to be Tull! In the meantime, I will send Generation Bridge a friend request the next time I go onto Myspace. I would like to hear your version of the Beacons Bottom Brick if and when you are able to post it! Cheers, Jeff

I just thought it might be of intrest to some in the CO area that Generation Bridge will be playing a show at the 1860 Tavern in Empire CO just outside Idaho Springs, and on the set are the Men of Passion versions of Tull's "Living in the Past", "For a Thousand Mothers", and Fairport's "Matty Groves", plus the Beacon's Bottom "Brick" and a "Wind Up / Locomotive Breath" Medley a la the Songs From the Wood tour. Many of the non-Tull songs on the set also recieve a Tull treatment of Andersonesque flute work, such as Cream's "Crossroads" (the irony being the Eric Clapton connection to Ian picking up flute), Emerson Lake and Palmer's "Black Moon" (playing one of Keith's many keyboard parts), and Iron Maiden's "Two Minutes to Midnight" (Maiden are all huge Tull fans, and when you replace Bruce Dickenson's "air raid siren" with my best Ian Anderson and one of the guitar solos with a flute solo, it sounds like a slightly heavier track from Stormwatch). It's a bit out of the way but should prove to be a very good show.

Hey Matthew! Isn't it great who you can run into on a Tull Fan Forum? I've been a friend of New Age Minstrel on myspace for a few years now ;D
Hope you are able to get the new band lineup sorted soon.
