Avatar is a youthful and energetic Brazilian band; I am not quite sure if they are a Tull tribute band like their countrymen The Blackpool Bards, as opposed to a cover band that does other bands as well. However, since they do have a flutist and they have at least seven Tull videos on youtube which are their only videos on youtube, and which are all musically superb, with some interesting choices like Driving Song, and an excerpt of Protect and Survive at the end of LITP, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt! What a great job by a group of young South American Tull fanatics! The blurb which follows their video of Bouree indicates that while in Italy, the Avatar guys befriended Beggar's Farm frontman Andrea Versaci, so that settles it: Avatar is most definitely a Tull tribute band! [youtube] It was a very nice afternoon in Milano - Italy. I made two new good friends there: Andrea Vercesi and Marcello Chiaraluce. They are members of Beggar's Farm Band. We talked a lot about Jethro Tull and we played a little bit too... There is our "live acoustic and no rehearsal" version of Bourée. Andrea made the video and I'm playing with Marcello. Thank you both for that very nice time!!!------------------------------------------ I will have to find out some more about these guys! Jeff
