I just wanted to point out to those that were lamenting the lack of American prog, Happy the Man. Self titled album out in 77 followed by Crafty hands in 79. Variuos bits and pieces where released afterward with a brand new release a couple of years ago. I urge anyone that enjoyed Dregs/Gentle Giant style intrumental music to check them out. They are one of the best bands you might not have ever heard! Darin

Also, check out HTM's "Death's Crown," their answer to Yes "Close to the Edge" (available as the original demo recording).

Yes! I had forgotten that Geneseo, we seem to be on the same page in terms of musical tastes, apart from the obvious. I'm going to have to get out my stack of HTM and refresh. Wasn't Carosel part of Deaths Crown? I may be remembering wrong, also somewhere maybe the same source as DC was a great song/demo "Leave that Kitten alone Armone" Yeah I think it was a crime HTM didn't catch on, never got to see them. I think I have a disc of Kit Watkins solo stuff around. He was putting stuff on the Internet very early, mid nineties I think. I'll have to do a little refresh on Camel also I don't have alot on disc. I used to do a song called "supertwister" in a band midseventies. Darin

I'd have a similar list to Darin's one. Ten is a number too short. Jethro Tull Frank Zappa & The Mothers Génesis Camel Gentle Giant Black Sabbath Pink Floyd Cream Yes King Crimson...... Actually there are some more I like, Led Z. , The Beatles, ELP and so on... Well the reason of this post is pretty different to the thread subject. Watching before a Peter Gabriel's tube I've been thinking about how good is his voice nowadays, not happening sadly the same situation to the Ian's voice, and I've been wondering why?, What would happen if today Ian would have it as nearly perfect as Peter keeps it today? , and many other questions. But by now just sit down, relax, watch and listen to this good song and afterwards tell us your judgement, your own thoughts. Mine are surprising. . A song 10 minutes long and didn't want it finished up. Enjoy

A song 10 minutes long and didn't want it finished up. Enjoy I'm sure I have Genesis in my top 4 which includes Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins. Peter Gabriel is an international Superstar alone as a solo act. He evolved his music from many years of touring with so many great musicians. Tony Levin and David Rhodes are equally gifted. Gabriel's personality is so open and pure. He could have a bad day and you would never know it. His music has a lot to say and my favorite is "Red Rain". www.bing.com/videos/search?q=red+rain+peter+gabriel&view=detail&mid=1AA934017B754DC9A93A1AA934017B754DC9A93A&first=21&FORM=LKVR8 All his songs can give light and hope to a world that needs it. I have never been to one of his shows, but it would be an unforgettable experience. Thank God for Peter Gabriel. I love you too Ian.

Of the 35 bands I mentioned I've got into I noticed no one mention the european bands such as banco, eloy, magma, focus and zao. Other than that pretty much every other band has been mentioned apart from Van der graaf, Greenslade and Egg. Some great bands there

Oblivion express are the latest addition to my fave 20 bands ;D
Samurai Web are also a new addition to bands with short careers. They changed their name to Samurai after been known as Web. Same lineup with Greenslades Dave Lawson on keys and vocals. The were called The web in the 60s but with a different singer/composer. Their music was different with Lawson in charge in 1970 and 71
