Even though Jethro Tull has put out "studio" albums since Dot Com in 1999, there have been none that were strictly new material. I'm thinking if that's the case, what a monumental end of an era. Ian and the boys can't go on touring and perfoming full time forever (or can they???). Even I would like to think at some point they would want to retire and what the hell, just go on an extended "Holiday". Quite sure (espesially Ian) they all can afford to. That's why I'm thinking Ian does not have the notion to write more original/unreleased songs. I think I've even heard him say about as much in an interview. So for me anyway I'm just so happy that Tull/Anderson were able to keep the project around and relevant for 40 plus years. Each time more material came out, I just thought it as a special bonus in life. Life IS a long song indeed. Thank you..Jethro Tull

Well I've been hearing things back and forth about the possibility of a new Tull album. I remember reading an interview where Ian was saying that it really wasn't worth it since there isn't really a high chance of good profit. Then a while later I heard some rumors (can't exactly remember if I heard it from the man himself) that he was planning to.
Ian's certainly written the new material, and I'm fairly optimistic that he plans to lay it down, but it may turn out to be an Ian solo album--but hopefully both!
