For a number of reasons I had never purchased the first Ian Anderson solo project "Walk into Light". Some years ago I had read it was so familiar to "Under Wraps" and both just got really BAD reviews. I had heard "Made in England" and will have to say I almost fell asleep when I heard it. It did not excite me..at all. I bought "Under Wraps" in 1985 and thought it to be okay..but 3 songs even to today..I just cannot even listen to because they just are like listening to fingernails on a chalk-board. It's like "Catfish Rising"..for me there is not but one song on that entire album I like at all. It's just 90's gibberish to me. However....recently I heard "Fly by Night" from "Walk into Light" and right away thought..okay this is catchy and more like the "A" album which was one of my favorites. Again there are a couple of songs from the first solo project that are just hard to listen to. My favorites are "Fly by Night" "User Friendly" and I think "Black and white Television" is classic to say the least. Overall even though the CD was a bit hard to find...it was well worth the effort. Personally I believe "Divinities" to be by far the best of Ian's solo efforts....JSM 02/26/2011 Long Live Jethro Tull !!!

I like it. Really enjoy Fly by night, Walk into light, Toad in the hole, End game and Made in England. Better album than Under wraps. It has a better drum sound ;D

I like some songs on Catfish. There's some pretty cool outtakes also such as Night in the wilderness, Truck stop runner, Silver river turning

Oh my..actually the statement about "Cat-Fish Rising" was prematurely stated and wrong. I was not aware "Silver River Turning" was from that album. That song is absolutely classic and one of the best ever. I had only heard it from a "best of" album (CD) Most songwriters have some not everybody cares for...for me it's very few when it comes to Tull/Anderson....recently heard coronach (written by David/Dee Palmer)..just fabulous!!!

I love your avatar misteman4. Walk Into Light is definitely an amazing album. Lots of great musical ideas, and there is a refreshing passion that went into giving the songs edge. I personally love Catfish Rising, great mandolin almost althroughout the album, and the riffs are a fantastic english folk rendition of american blues. Just my opinion though Under Wraps is also an album that I like a lot.
