We have heated debates about politics and whilst once they raised hackles, they don't seem to be too bad now, being conducted in he main in an adult way, albeit sometimes humorously or sometimes barbed. We have has plenty of adult debates about Tull, TaaB2 and the decision to exclude Martin, again differing views principally conducted with banter and respect. Not the case experienced in other arenas in the past. This is still by far the best place to discuss matters, the exchange above goes to show we can have and allow the debate to take place, no closed doors here.

OK, so I think framing the question differently than Martin vs. the Kid, I really believe the sound is driven by the producer, in this case Anderson. Since Zappa is part of the entertainment in this thread, he is an example of one who used a diverse range of players yet had that Zappa sound. You. An point to any number of writer/producers who have "a sound", and I think Andersoon is another. Again leaving the Martin/Kid thng aside, they are both hired hands who ultimately play what the headmaster requires. I therefore think it is unfair to say the Kid borrowed from Martin, they both contribute to the sound. BTW, you should watch both, if you can ignore the revisionism, although since both are devoid of facts, I would call it creative fiction, they are both really funny, and you have to give it to FOX for providing good eye-candy to deliver their comedy.

Dudes, be cool. There are too many personal attacks going on, that needs to stop. Who is right or wrong doesn't matter. This is too much for too little.
This is ridiculous.
I understand why both of you are frustrated, but this was obviously a misunderstanding--that's all. Jeff, don't try to explain what happened, because they will feel differently.
Let's just drop it and talk Tull

Does Dee Palmer have any known future projects? I think she should join Tull for Too Old to Rock And Roll 2!! That would be like Spinal Tap on steroids... Or estrogen... Debut solo album. The recording of a debut album of original songs is now close to completion. Symphony orchestras, drums and guitars etc. are noticeably absent in a “stripped down” collection of very personal songs. The master vocals and mixing remain to be signed off and the tracks will then be streamed on the website. missdeepalmer.com/

She also worked on The "Singalongamax" series of albums by old Bermondsey boy variety artist Max Bygraves.
Max died a few days ago at his home in Austrailia.

I have this in my collection of recordings and forgot all about it. I was doing some "house cleaning" in my data base and found this. So I gave it a listen and it is a fairly decent sounding recording. Dee (David) Palmer and Steve Hackett Rock In Symphonic May-3-1994 Vorst Nationale, Brussels 1.1 Intro / Turn It On Again (Stoped) (Genesis) 1.2 Turn It On Again (Genesis) 1.3 Whole Lotta Love (Led Zepplin) 1.4 Money (Pink Floyd) 1.5 Talking 1.6 Genesis Medley 1.7 Songs In The Wood (Jethro Tull) 1.8 Talking 1.9 Elegy (Jethro Tull And Palmer) 1.10 Thick As A Brick (Jethro Tull) 1.11 Aqualung (Jethro Tull) 1.12 Introducing Steve Hackett 1.13 Intro / Blood On The Rooftops / Cuckoo Cocoon / In That Quiet Earth 1.14 Horizons 1.15 Talking 1.16 Cavalcanti 1.17 The Journey 1.18 Pierrot 2.1 Intro 2.2 Run Like Hell (Pink Floyd) 2.3 Owner Of A Lonely Heart (Yes) 2.4 Roundabout (Yes) 2.5 Another Brick In The Wall (Pink Floyd) 2.6 Talking 2.7 Too Old To Rock And Roll, Too Young To Die 2.8 On The Turning Away (Pink Floyd) 2.9 Talking 2.10 When The Tigers Broke Free/Eclipse (Pink Floyd) 2.11 Locomotive Breath (Jethro Tull)

It was one night you can tell by the recording I misread the songlist and added the talking tracks. Minus 7 tracks would leave 24 tracks of music. Wow! Everyone got their money's worth that night. Impressive indeed.
