From the people who brought you the Classic Rock Singalong: Not exactly a "tribute band," but certainly a tribute -- by a group of dedicated, virtuosic players -- to Tull material from 1969-76. It'll be a mix of big hits and a handful of album cuts.
We'd love to see you devotees there. Mention the JT Board and get two bucks off at the door.
Sat., Aug. 27, 10pm M Bar, 1253 N. Vine (at Fountain), Hollywood, CA 90038 21 & over $10
Thanks for reading.

I'm going to try and make it, for I definitely want to. Depends how my search goes for a dirt-cheap motel somewhat nearby. (Trying to work within the straight lines of buses.) I have to be in the Valley the next morning, so it would be stupid to go all the way back home that night.

Hi, Wendy, have a good time if you do go, and let us know how it was! Jeff

Room is booked! (Got something decent for $75, w/tax abt $86. Not bad!) All I have to do now is pack and show up! Hoping the bf will come with me, but we're not sure yet. If he's too tired it will be just me. On with the show!
(This happens to be the weekend that our SF club is moving, so on Friday the stuff is transported and both weekend days are filled with sorting/unpacking/etc at the new place. Fun!!)

These vids are from Tull Tribute Night at the M Bar in Hollywood, California, on August 27, 2011, featuring the Tull-a-Prompter Band, which as I understand it, was a group of musicians who learned a whole bunch of Tull songs specifically for the one-off performance that night. I think you'll agree that they did a fine job with these!
Jethro Tull Board friend Simon Glickman was heavily involved in promoting this show, but I didn't realize until now that he was also the lead singer. (That's because he never really mentioned it.)
Last I heard, Simon was hooking our friend Zephyr (Wendy) up with complimentary tickets for her and....possibly, hopefully her boyfriend too....but we haven't yet had a review from Zephyr. So, Wendy, were you there, did boyfriend go, and what did you think of it?
