Go ahead - blather with the best of them...

TM: Any thoughts with Ian dropping Homo tracks in favor for Tull tunes on the current tour? My take is this - it's all about promotion. Sept 26, 2014 10:39:47 GMT -5

Dan: Not my favorite I.A. or Tull album but I would like to see it in its entirety live. Besides, what Mr. A considers "Best Of" is considerably different then mine. Sept 26, 2014 14:09:42 GMT -5

Biggles: HomoE isn't playing well live, period! It's only 'ok'.. Also, people in Oakland, CA were yelling from the rafters "FIX THE AUDIO". It wasn't the audio, the band just doesn't get the material and it lacks dynamics.. TAAB2 played much better live. Sept 26, 2014 18:07:55 GMT -5 *

Nonfatman: In all fairness, then, the tour should be re-billed as The Best of Jethro Tull, featuring Homo Erraticut. Sept 26, 2014 18:12:47 GMT -5

Biggles: The Best Of segment blew away HomoE. My expectation was the opposite. Scott Hammond understood the Tull classics, props to him. I heared a fan say "fuck that weird shit" about HomoE. Sept 26, 2014 18:27:06 GMT -5

Nonfatman: I think the difference between this tour and last year, was that for Brick, the audiences had already gotten their money's worth, with the entire Thick as a Brick played in the first set. So that made the new album go down easier. Sept 26, 2014 19:56:13 GMT -5

Nonfatman: This year it's the opposite, with the new album being played first and some folks getting restless. Sept 26, 2014 19:56:42 GMT -5

Nonfatman: I don't know, but for me I would rather hear the solo band perform the new material, because it is their own material, not Tull. I just don't care for Florian's playing on the Tull stuff. Sept 26, 2014 19:59:21 GMT -5

TM: Ian's music is always enjoyable but his last 2 albums simply are not in the same league as classic Tull. Sept 26, 2014 20:02:51 GMT -5
Kai Avatar
Kai: The "best of" setlist probably isn't Ian Anderson's favorites, but what he thinks will be the fan's favorites--or at least familiar to the general public. Sept 27, 2014 15:39:51 GMT -5
