I know I have repeated plenty of things on this topic but for the most part I think things are kept pretty fresh and pretty friendly around here. (Unless you ask irrelevant questions) This topic could probably be the most controversial thing that's happened with Tull. The ones who don't think Martin was that important have a much easier time not wanting to talk about it. The rest of us still obviously have strong feelings about it. So when certain things come up, or trolls pop up, some of us are going to talk about it as they feel. If they didn't they would just be censoring themselves to please others. I already don't bring up certain things as I know some will take them the wrong way or I may be perceived as trying to sound like an "elite fan" and have to immediately defend myself. I actually try to stay quiet most of the time. I can accept that some don't appreciate Martin as I do. At the same time it should be accepted that some do not wish to call Ian's solo band "Jethro Tull" ( and no concert poster will convince me otherwise)
When disagreements do come up I think it's important to not lose perspective of things or take anything too personally though. I can sit and disagree with friends all night long and not take anything too personally. When you are only reading someones random thoughts you can't put too much stock in how it's coming across because most of the time it's probably taken worse than intended, unless it's obvious We are all here because we enjoy Tull so lets accept and chill or not?
This is the 1st sensible thing I read in this thread
