When I was younger, I never had an appreciation for Billy Joel, never liked him that much aside from a few songs, which is strange because I grew up on Long Island where he is enormously popular. Perhaps the reason that I didn't like him was because he was so popular, a lot of girls liked him, but he didn't seem that cool to me.
I was wrong. I have come to realize what an incredible artist he is, not just as pianist and vocalist, but also as a lyricist (notwithstanding We Didn't Start the Fire). Here's one of my favorites, a great song with great lyrics, and a tremendous live performance. It's interesting that one of the youtube comments is by a guy named DavieMonster who believes the song is "a little Jethro Tull influenced, here and there." I don't see that at all, but it sure is a fantastic song in all respects.
"Shades Of Grey"
Some things were perfectly clear, seen with the vision of youth No doubts and nothing to fear, I claimed the corner on truth These days it's harder to say I know what I'm fighting for My faith is falling away I'm not that sure anymore
Shades of grey wherever I go The more I find out the less that I know Black and white is how it should be But shades of grey are the colors I see
Once there were trenches and walls and one point of every view Fight 'til the other man falls Kill him before he kills you These days the edges are blurred, I'm old and tired of war I hear the other man's words I'm not that sure anymore
Shades of grey are all that I find When I look to the enemy line Black and white was so easy for me But shades of grey are the colors I see
Now with the wisdom of years I try to reason things out And the only people I fear are those who never have doubts Save us all from arrogant men, and all the causes they're for I won't be righteous again I'm not that sure anymore
Shades of grey wherever I go The more I find out the less that I know Ain't no rainbows shining on me Shades of grey are the colors I see

teddy: Seems like everyone trying to figure out " Eat Hermione for lunch" just don't get it. A Popular vegetarian line of food is advertised by a woman named Hermione. You can see the advertisement on line. Thus it is not oral sex with a office girl. Munch.

lclark354: Hello everyone. I recently finished a room addition, and can finally set up surround sound. I've purchased all the Tull sets, except, of course,TAAB. Is there a site where one can purchase & download the 5.1 files? Or, any word on a re-issue?

madjack1959: Hello to everyone from Lexington, Kentucky. Part of what led me here, was mention of Gentle Giant. I've listened to Tull for ages, and then was introduced to GG via Octopus I saw in the record store, and that was my start. I've never seen either "live" :
