Some of you old-timers may recall the debate we had over whether or not Eddie Jobson made a surprise guest appearance at the November 9, 1989 show at the Meadowlands Arena in New Jersey. Now, as some of you may remember, I had front row seats for that night, and despite claims made to the contrary (by members who shall remain nameless ) I have maintained that Eddie Jobson did in fact NOT appear on stage that night. I now offer you proof by presenting Eddie's own words from an interview he did with Jay Yu, from Art Rock Magazine in 1995: You can read the entire interview here: Art Rock Interview with Eddie Jobson

Think I saw Eddie in some live footage from 1985.

The webmaster even mentioned that Eddie's appearance with Tull that day was the same day that the Berlin Wall was torn down, which I did not realize, but the fact that he mentioned it makes it even more credible. Also, it makes sense because Eddie lives in the area, and at the time was working on commercial jingles in NYC, so it was just a stone's throw away. Speaking of walls... bash-head whistle Nameless

Also, from the context of the question, it is clear that Eddie's remark about not being onstage for 15 years was referring to his own projects. He obviously forgot the two song appearance with Tull in 1989. He also did a guest appearance with Tull in Berlin in 1985, which is on youtube. The 1985 and 1989 appearances were the only two exceptions to his 15 years absence at the time he gave this interview in 1995. After 1989, there were no further appearances, and Eddie's hiatus continued until 2008, when he returned with UKZ and UK. All of this is also confirmed on the Eddie Jobson Fan Community facebook page, as well.
Eddie's webmaster wrote me that Eddie's guest appearance at the November 9, 1989 Tull show was the last time he had set foot on stage until his comeback with UK and UKZ in 2007.
I think the songs were Heavy Horses and Budapest, both of which do have violin. I remember that there was some kind of glitch and Gerd, or another roadie, had to run onstage and fix it while Eddie was playing.

Here is the link to the thread on the Eddie Jobson forum, where, in response to my question, the webmaster confirms that Eddie's last appearance onstage was with Tull at the Brendan Byrne arena at the Meadowlands. He played on Budapest and The Pine Martin's Jig (not Heavy Horses). www.eddiejobson.com/forum/read.php?f=1&i=8614&t=8571#reply_8614Jeff

With all due respect my friend, I give you the word straight from the horse's mouth, while you could be easily giving a line of crap by some acne-fighting teenager who lives in his parent's basement!
