Who went to this? Paul? It was way back in June 1992, a few months after the first USA Tull convention, at a funky place in Alphabet City, which back then was still a threatening neighborhood. This guy Jerry Adessa organized it, and it was a blast. Lots of food, beer, new Tull friends and two great Tull cover bands, Heresy and Jethro Toe.

I'm getting this feeling that I may have met you at one of these conventions or parties at one time or another, but then again, maybe not. Yes, you're right, it was like an old, beat-up townhouse, with three or four levels, and there was a railing where you stood and looked down at the bands from above, but I believe there was a first floor level too where you could watch them. I went there with this Chinese girl I was seeing at the time, and with Mike and his Russian bride-to-be, Vicky. I remember it being a very fun party, maybe the best ever. So you went with Billy Fingas....haven't heard his name for awhile.... Jeff

Not the Passion Play gig, but an actual convention. But here's how you might know me. I was actually one of the vendors at the Vermont convention....

Let's not forget Ben Vaccarro playing a variety of spot-on Tull songs on the acoustic guitar in front of the venue. Now if only Traveling Tull was here, he could go into one of his Ben Vaccarro diatribes.

I thought so. But that's way too long ago for anyone to remember.

I lost 5 pounds that day. I remember it well and consider the spirit at the gig to never have been equaled. The Hammond organ wouldn't fit down the stairs to the stage so we put it up in the Gallery and we looked at all the friends we made.

I think of all the Tull conventions and Tull parties, that one may have had the most spirit and energy. The funky venue and location had something to do with it, so did the great performances by both Tull bands, and Ben playing those acoustic songs in the beginning. And a lot of us were totally plastered. I remember getting pretty f*cked up on the front stoop with this little Chinese girl, Lei Wah, I was going out with at the time. Afterward she told me it was the best date anyone had ever taken her on! Jeff

I, also, was there. Loved the huge mask on the wall, Dennis pretending to steal his own equipment from the tagged van in front of three disinterested cops!
LOL

I had just met you several months earlier at the first USA Tull convention in Newport (or possibly at the Biltmore after that 1991 Providence show, which was when a lot of Tull fans first met each other.) That was a really fun Tull party! Ahhh, the good old days... Jeff
