It's very cool that you were drawing sketches of Ian from such an early age, Marcie. You were obviously into Tull at an earlier age than I was!
I like those, because they are something different....not something you see very often, and certainly I've never seen a child's drawings of IA before.
Thanks for posting them!

Yes, they are good. I wish I saved some of the stuff I did way back when.
My wife actually did a nice charcoal drawing of Ian with the checkered coat when she was a teen. It was actually very good. I wish we still had that too.

Thanks, guys. Much appreciated!
I drew those sketches at ages 13, 15 and 18 respectively. I considered myself lucky to have exposure to this kind of music at a really early age (I was 11 and a 1/2 when I first heard them) but, had a hard time relating to other kids my age who were listening to the typical mindless bubblegum crap that was prevalent back then.
It's a shame that you don't have those drawings anymore, Paul, and I would have loved to have seen your wife's charcoal drawing. I idolized Ian when he was in his checkered coat days. Although I can well understand why he stopped wearing those coats. It can get pretty damn hot up there on stage!
