Having been proven incorrect, thanks to Paco, in my guess that the Italian Tull tribute band Undertull is the same as Un Tal Jethro, I am happy to report that we have a brand new Tull tribute band to spotlight here! Un Tal Jethro is the recently-formed Spanish Tull tribute band who performed at the 8th annual Tullianos convention in July, and who you can see performing Locomotive Breath with Dee Palmer in the 'Granny Dee' thread. I am sure that they played other songs as well, but the only youtube video of theirs that I could find was LocoBreath with Dee. If there are others, I would appreciate Paco's help in directing me to them so I can post them here. In the meantime, here are some photos and billboards from Un Tal Jethro: More information and photos of Un Tal Jethro can be found on the Tullianos fan site, here: www.tullianos.com/index.php?option=com_zoom&Itemid=15&catid=87Jeff

The recently-formed Spanish Tull tribute band, Un Tal Jethro, is doing a show tomorrow night, December 29th, at a place called The Onki-Xin Taberna in Iruna, Spain, where they have played other shows in the past.
Paco, Janu, Juan and our other Spanish members -- I don't know if you live anywhere near Iruna, but if you do, I am sure you will love this excellent new tribute band!
Here is a video of them....the only one I could find on youtube, but I could have missed some.

Jeff, awesome, brilliant, still searchin' adjectives to rate your great news cause so far i hadn't heard anything from Un Tal Jethro and of course they make it real good. Sadly I live too far from Iruña and won't be able to attend the show though I guess any more chances there will be to enjoy them. Life is a long song ;D ;D I want to express my gratitude to you to mention the spanish group, we're some of them, good to know it. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011 TO YOU AND EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD

It is a pleasure having you here on our board. One thing I was a little confused about was the location of the venue because although the address for the venue is sometimes given as Iruna, it is also sometimes listed as Pamplona. I guess Pamplona must be the county or province in which Iruna is located? Jeff

It`s easy to explain it, Jeff, Iruña and Pamplona are just the same town, in one hand, Iruña, they call it in the vasc slang and Pamplona in the spanish language, things that usually happens in this country. By the way, Jeff, just mentioning that Pamplona is very well known worldwidely for their famous traditional parties, Los Sanfermines, when in July on the streets of the town , the mozos run fast ahead the bulls in order not to be hit by their horns, a complete dangerous issue A slight correction on my previous post, I wanted to mean : Life is a long song ( better to do it later than ever) ;D best wishes, Jeff, and many thanks for your kind words pd. i hadn´t mentioned the great pic, added in this thread, of the band while every member holding on their hands such masterpieces vinyls. Good idea

Well I'll try to do a little summary of Friday night where they celebrated the anniversary of Tullianos (10 years) and Jose Ignacio (Un Tal Jethro/50 years) After a few beers and tapas in a tavern nearby, we went to the hall La Báscula, very close to the Palau Sant Jordi site of the last performance of Tull in Barcelona. The hall La Báscula is a cozy auditorium located near the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, as always free entry for members and € 5 for the public After speeches by President Albert Villanueva and Jose Ignacio started the show. Tundra accompanied on vocals by Jose Ignacio performed classic covers from Deep Purple, The Doors and more.. and also Jethro Tull of course, great performance highlighting Gabriela Guardiola on keyboards. Finally it came the most desired performance of Un Tal Jethro, great performance by the band led by Josing reviewing most classics of Tull, Cross Eyed Mary, Dun Ringill, Too old too rock'n'roll, TAAB. .. to finish with a excellent Aqualung all stand up in front of the stage dancing like old times ... drunken lumberjacks? I like!, for those who have not heard Jose Ignacio live, I will say that your voice makes a lot in live, and like good wine improves with age The concert started at 10:00 pm and ended at 2:00 am after a few beers with friends we went to sleep and dream about the next concert in the Palau de la Música with Ian Anderson and his TAAB 1 and 2 The flame of Tull is very much alive in Barcelona With Jose Ignacio With Martin Driver (coming from England for the concert, thanks Martin!)
