This is a fill-in-the-blank lyric quiz. The blank may be filled in by one word, or several.
___________ is a flavorful dish that has become unappetizing.

Plate of soft-shell crabs? No, I'm afraid that's not it, but I can see your thought process because the guy in that song has probably lost his appetite due to it being such a shitty date, so that's a great try, and very creative thinking on your part, sealdriver! In my example, it is a more literal thing of the food itself actually becoming unappetizing. So keep on trying! Jeff

Gristle burger and frazzled fries ? sounds unappetizing.. That's an excellent try, Jerry, that does sound unappetizing, but there is a very subtle distinction between that and what I am looking for. In the case of the gristled burger and frazzled fries, there is no indication that said victuals have become unappetizing, as the Lyric Quiz states. It's more likely that they were served that way to begin with, because the gristle would have been present from the git-go, and if the burger was gristly, chances are that it would not be "flavorful" and it is likely that the fries were served frazzled as well. I suppose it is possible that the fries became frazzled from sitting under a hot lamp at some cheap AC buffet, but there is nothing in the song to indicate that. So, in my example, it is clear from the context that the viands in question were flavorful, but have deteriorated. Keep trying, though! Jeff

Hi, yellowcabs, thanks for taking a shot at this one, but that's not it. The correct answer is a prepared dish that was once flavorful, but that has become nasty. You have an unlimited number of tries, so please do try again! Jeff

Cold yesterday's steak and warm beer is a flavorful dish that has become unappetizing. You know you are right, Brian, and it's possible this question admits of more than one correct answer, but the dish I was thinking of is more flavorful than steak, something savory and spicy and probably a favorite of Ian, no doubt.
