In this photo, circa 2002, icecreamman (left) and I discuss the relative merits of Thick as a Brick v. Passion Play (or was that Songs From the Wood v. Heavy Horses?): More nonfat-icecreamman photos to follow! I just wish I knew how to crop these so that the entire photo can be still be seen. Jeff P.S. Thanks again for that scanner, Charlie!

In this photo, the bearded members of The Jethro Tull Board sandwich icecreamman and a backdoor angel at War Child's recent Halloween costume party in the village. Paul's on the right and that's me on the left. I've got more photos from that fun night, which I will be posting in the War Child thread. Jeff

Mike "Icecreamman" Grin and I, backstage with Ian in 1991, after the Catfish Rising show at Nassau Coliseum. Moments earlier, Mike had presented Ian with a moosehead finger puppet which he had gotten from his girlfriend, a children's entertainer, Marcia the Musical Moose. Mike thought it would be funny to give this to Ian as a gift and suggest that he utilize it as a "willie warmer" because at that time, Kissing Willie was a relatively new song. Trouble was, it was the size of a fingertip! Ian initially looked at Mike with daggers in his eyes, as if to say, WTF did you just hand me? But then, after some pretty girls who were standing near us started giggling --- one of them made a joke, and I then jumped in with a great line -- Ian totally lightened up and saw the humor in the situation, and after that we were treated like royalty! The full story of the 'Willie Warmer Affair' has been told twice, in serial fashion, in 2003 and again in 2009, and it was the re-telling in 2009 that in large part led to the founding of this board. One of these days, I will tell the whole story again, but probably not for a couple of more years. This is the first time I've posted the photos! Nearly 20 years later, just a few months ago in fact, I met Ian with another friend -- your very own TM -- at which time another unusual gift was proferred! Full story starts here: thejethrotullboard.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=greeting&thread=1473&page=3#10319Jeff

This photo of me and Karen (on pretzel flute) with Tull tribute keyboardist, Mike "Icecreamman" Grin, was taken after the 40th anniversary show at Jones Beach in August 2008. You can make out a yellow backstage pass on Mke's shirt. He and the other members of War Child got to meet Ian after the show, but they didn't take poor little -- okay not so little -- me with them. Jeff You always have a great smile Jeff. Tull has that affect on me too. Have you ever been backstage before? Thanks, Jim! Yes, I've been backstage and personally met Ian four times, plus I've met and spoke with him outside the venue several other times too. The most recent backstage meeting was when Paul and I got passes (through Pat's contacts) and were part of a very small group of guests who met Ian after a show last year in Morristown NJ, when we got that hilarious recorded greeting from Ian for the members of the board! Certainly by now you've seen that....it's right at the top of our home page. Also, if you go back through this thread you will see photos from the very first time Icecreamman and I met Ian, also under hilarious circumstances I told -- at length, and in serialized fashion -- twice before on two now-defunct forums. But I only tell that story once every six years, so let's see, probably I'll tell the whole damn yarn again in 2015, right here on TJTB! Mike and I also met Ian backstage after two of the shows on our trip to England and Scotland in 1993.....I will be posting some more photos of our trip soon, including some taken backstage. Jeff
