I figured this was bound to happen, that is, multiple Tull tribute bands with the same name! And so it is, as I have just chanced upon a brand new Jethro Tull tribute act from Toronto, who go by the name Cross-Eyed Mary, not to be confused with the Cross-Eyed Mary trib band from Colorado Springs whom we have previously featured in a separate thread.
These guys are brand new, having formed in April 2010, but they have already played a number of gigs (I think), and have posted a formidable array of solid videos and MP3s on their website and Facebook page. Nothing on youtube yet (as far as I can see), but if you'd like to sample their Tull treatments you can simply go to their site or FB page, see link to website below.
The interesting thing about these guys is that their lead singer and flutist Paul Crolly is primarily a bassist....although the band also includes a separate bass player.
Some photos below (not exactly sure why the guys on both ends are caressing their respective chins, though) followed by their links, and of course we hope these guys will be joining us here very soon!
These guys are at least the third Tull tribute band we've found from Toronto -- Oracle and Grown Men are the two others -- so that just goes to show that Toronto is true Tull territory. Buffalo, as well, which is where our friend Ray is originally from....more on Ray and Living With the Past coming up soon!
Jeff, a very good Tull tribute band, there are some videos in their own website, for instance, this hymn 43, indeed very well well played, look yourself
