The White Nights Festival from Russia
This is a really interesting documentary / film. I have it somewhere in my over large Tull DVD collection.
Have not watched in ages but I a m sure it has an interesting bit in the concert..... basically Ian and Martin cannot get something right or one instrument refuses to tune and in the end Ian says to martin something like lets just do it so off the number goes with the backing band in tow. I remember being quite taken aback when I first saw it as Ian is usually such a perfectionist

I think that may have been the same routine but a bit "suped" up for a first appearance in Russia. Again probably an expense issue. They went to radio stations and the like. Heres the New York Letterman bit, Ian and Martin utilizing the house band. Darin

Someone asked me if there was a second part of this video, yes there is a second partl, but youtube will not let me upload, inexplicably this second part is prohibited worldwide, only interpret some notes of Aqualung and Thick as a Brick ... If anyone is interested in seeing it I have uploaded to facebook to the public without restrictions on the following www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=488163071195302&set=vb.100000048408758&type=2&theaterWell I finally found a way to upload the full program of TV, the solution was easy, join the two parts into one, now is permitted worldwide Kelly Ripa and Howie Mandel 2001 Presentation of the album The Very Best of Jethro Tull parts 1 & 2

-At the 5:00 minute mark, Ian is stroking his flute under Martin. -At the 5:07 mark, Ian nearly falls down and messed up his flute big time. -At the 6:08 mark, Ian wants a new flute. -At the 6:24 mark, Ian is playing a different flute. God, I hope no one tells us not to have this on the Board. This is a real live show. Not edited for perfection. On August 7th they were playing at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia. That was where we first saw Willy Porter as the opening act. He was a 1 man acoustic guitar performance. I was very impressed by Willy as well.

I found this today on the 'Tube, a video of the complete Thick as a Brick 1&2 concert, shot in Florida. The sound is very good, although there are a few problems with the onstage mix during "Brick 1". You can also hear someone near the cameraman occasionally shouting "do older stuff" and "Aqualung", but it hardly detracts from the listening experience, I even find it a bit funny (I don't think I would if I were in Ian's place, though he doesn't seem to hear it). ;D
