Earlier this year I was updating my CD collection and came across Ian Anderson's Divinities/Twelve Dances with God album. Of course I'm slightly biased as I have idolized Ian since I was all of about 15 yrs old. HOWEVER I can honestly say even though this particular piece of work is not rock music, it is very good indeed. Even though it would have been hard for me to understand Ian recording an album with no lyrics...that works here as well. Even though all of songs are good the first 5 and the last (In Times of India/Bombay Valentine) are the best in my opinion. Actually the last being a bonifide "masterpiece". Andrew Giddings helped with this album which was recorded in 1994. Andy is a very talented arranger in his own right. The recent "Picture This" by Giddings is just wonderful. Throughout the years some of the best musicians have been part of the Tull Family. I'm hoping they just continue to make my favorite tunes....peace..JSM

Divinities, like Walk Into Light is what an Ian Anderson solo album should be = something different from Tull!!! Would love to see more like this from Ian.

Closer to the Tull sound, SLOB & Dance could have been Tull titles, certainly for SLOB. (Would anyone care at this point?) Drift into yesterday.
