Paul, Pat, that is great news indeed! Very exciting that we will be doing this soon, and I think it will only serve to further enhance our visibility!

Hmmmmm. Let's see. Last time I asked about cats. Don't want to repeat myself. Want to be thoughtful. Ask something to make him think. Get a bit of serious, reflective Ian to balance the rowdy, profane Ian we know and love. Hmmmm. Got it! This is Blue Smith from West Conshohocken, just outside Philadelphia, PA. My question is: Six thousand years in the future a crack team of archeologists and their attendant highly trained, absolutely capable team of cultural anthropologists are sifting through the ruins of one of Earth's Lost Cities. They come upon a disc that is ruined but they manage to salvage one, pristine track from it. The glyphs that are still readable say that it is by a Jethro Tull. Out of all the musicals wonders you've created for us, if there can only be one piece of your work that remains, for all posterity, which one is it? Which is the one, single piece of your work that you would be saddened to have lost to time?

Ian,
You once said that you got into the salmon farming business because it provided a distraction from the music, so that Jethro Tull would seem less joblike and more fun. Now that you are no longer in the salmon farming business, are you involved in anything else to achieve that balance? And are you involved in any sort of agriculture in any way?

Hi, Ian
When was the video for the song "Heavy Horses" filmed?
It is my favourite promo video of Jethro Tull's. I like it's barnyard setting.

Hi Ian, Will there be any more deluxe edition sets in the near future. I personally would love to see that treatment done to all of the Tull Classic LPs. IMO the are all classic by the way. Also will there be any new material coming soon from you or the band. Thanks John

P.J. from Dublin. Ian, have you any memory of a show in Dublin in 1969 at the National Stadium there ? Coming off stage at the end, and passing through the crowd, you were mobbed and your flute taken and your coat torn. I imagine the the National Concert Hall crowd will be a somewhat better behaved at your upcoming gig here, but then you never know !

Hi Ian - I have 3 questions.
Question 1 Ian will you ever be doing a 70's lineup reunion tour or album or anything like that with Barriemore Barlow and Jeffrey Hammond or Glenn Cornick and Clive Bunker? Get back to your roots so to speak? I think it would be amazing, and something all fans would enjoy to watch..
Question 2 Can you give us a paragraph or two on what John Glascock was like? Was he a fun person to work with?
Question 3 With years of working in the music business, is there someone that you worked with that really stood out among the others? In a good or bad way?
Thanks for the response (If I get one) and I wish you luck, Ian. - 15 Year Old Fan from the United States

Coming soon! Great news! Good Day to you Ian: Pearl from South Beach, Florida My question is I keep hearing some relatively new songs that you have done, with simiilar titles to songs already done, but the new ones are sounding quite good I might add. I was wondering if there are any new albums on the horizon? One more question, if I might....There are just so many wonderful concerts that I have attended over my lifetime (a good 40 years worth) and just cannot understand why some of these concerts were never made professionally for the public to purchase. I would be the first in line to buy anything you did live from any of the concerts I attended from the 70's, 80's and even the 90's. I had a couple of friends who would trapse with me from town to town to see you and Tull perform live. It was always such an exciting time for us. Are there any plans to do something like this?...Releasing any of these concerts professionally for sale to the public? There is not a day that passes that I am not listening to your music. Your songs have brought more joy to my life than any other musician alive. I wish you a long life, good health and happiness. I will probably be an old lady sitting on my porch listening to your music. Stay well my friend. Warm Regards, Silkenmist... (a/k/a Pearl from South Beach, Florida)

Hello Ian Anderson,
When the DCC Aqualung gold CD was made did you know that the Aqualung master tape was stretched at the beginning of the title song and that a section recorded from an original CD was inserted for the transfer. The original stretched tape was then reinserted before it was sent back to you. Also, did DCC have permission to use the complete first half of Thick As A Brick on their Original Masters CD (thinking royalties here)?
Thank you JohnN - Toronto, Canada
Cheers!

Hi Ian, Mix from West Ireland here. Firstly I got say thanks to you for all the wonderful music. It has been and continues to be one hell of a ride! Right then Mr. Anderson. Question one: I've read that you would like to one day write a novel. Is this still an ambition of yours and if so any clues to the subject? Question two: In the first half of your career you were a prolific songwriter but over the last decade or so new songs have been less forthcoming. Can you explain why this is? Question three: When putting together the wonderful Nightcap album and the Anniversary box sets, Dave Rees mentions the track Dinosaur as being a cracker yet it was never released. Can I ask if this will be released one day and is the vault of unreleased now exploited? I'm gonna break the rules now and fire one more question at you because I'm living in Ireland and things are shitty so I'm feeling cheeky...... Did you ever find out what Frank Zappa/Dweezil wanted with you shortly before Frank died? I can't help thinking Frank wanted to sample your Flute playing for his Synclavier compositions. Best of luck Ian, looking forward to your Castlebar gig. Mix.

Hi Ian, I´m Daniel from Santiago, Chile. (27 years old)
I first listened to the Minstrel in the Gallery album when I was 8, thanks to my dad, and became a Tull fan right away.
My question is a very old one, which I´ve been wondering aloud in this forum since the first day: For several years I was frustrated for not founding live Tull material between 1971 and 1975. Today, thanks to internet, specially Youtube, we fans can see a little bit of what Tull was back then, but I still wonder how a band as big as Jethro Tull has no official live releases in it´s golden years? what happened.... is there anything out there that we are still missing?
Regards, Daniel

Hi Ian from Bob in Glasgow. it was great to see Tull in Glasgow at the Pavilion Theatre in 2008 and 2010. This old 'family' theate is directly acrooss the road from the legendary Glasgow Apollo (long demolished) where I first saw Tull live in 1984. Quite a difference between the two venues, and you've also of course plyed the Royal Concert Hall here, but I wondered - do you have any specific GLASGOW memories Cheers and thanks for the 43 (gulp!!!) years.

Hello Ian - 'Under Wraps' is often panned for it's Ultravox type drum sound (not by me though), but in the 1984 Tour (and even on my bootleg of that tour - 'Completely Under Wraps' - ) the sound was excellent. I think it was something called 'Turbo-sound'? My Q is - with the 30th (!!!) anniversary of the album on the horizon - any plans to re-record any of the songs with the current line up or even the class of '84? I'm sure the album's detractors would get a surprise. All the very best from Bob in Glasgow (yes, I know, me again) PS how is Dave Pegg these days?

Hi Ian, Stewart from Claverack, NY. How many flutes do you take on tour? Is there a particular brand that you favor these days? I think I read on the Tull page that you used Powell and Sankyo, and your "kitchen" flute was a beginners Yamaha. Are they stilll your go-to brands?

Hi Ian, David from Gaithersburg, MD. 1. What was the inspiration for the song "Down At The End Of Your Road"? 2. Any memories you'd like share with us regarding the 1976 Shea Stadium show and/or any of the large stadium shows from the summer of 1976? (I was at that Shea Stadium show. Somebody tried to light my rain parka on fire. THAT was my last stadium show.) 3. Have you ever punched out anybody(or visa versa)? (Shouldn't every rock star have a good fight story behind them.)
