Here's a game where we write what The Jethro Tull Board means to us, in exactly 50 words! I'll start. ------------------------ For me, The Jethro Tull Board is a fun and friendly diversion, a welcome distraction from the dreary world of work, a creative outlet and an inviting place to talk and joke with a lot of very cool people, some of whom I have already had the pleasure of meeting! ------------------------ That's fifty.....anyone else want to give this a shot? Jeff

Hey you, out there in the cold Getting lonely, getting old Can you feel me? Hey you, standing in the aisles With itchy feet and fading smiles Can you feel me? Hey you, don't help them to bury the light Don't give in without a fight. Hey you, out there... - Roger Waters

Pull up a stool, order up, and drop a dollar down for your favorite Tull tune.
You're not just hanging with Tull fans, you're hanging with good people.
No bitch ing, no moaning, no silly need for rules.
We are after all, the more natural selection. This board belongs to you.

Because most I know either don't much care for tull, or have never heard tull...it gives me a space to read and write about my favorite songs. Tull is and has been for 37 years a big part of my life. It's driven a few friends and lovers MAD.

This is where my friends hang out. This is where, of all the places on the internet I visit, I feel the most at home. This is where I crank back , let down my hair and am accepted for who and what I am. Here's where the good life lives.

Maybe that would have been the better idea for this thread. Compose a fifty word poem about what TJTB means to you. Jeff

So, feelings of alienation and isolation are ignored, then? LOL

So, feelings of alienation and isolation are ignored, then? LOL Well, JohnN, we were hoping for something original, rather than someone else's words. Besides, Roger Waters is a prick, and most of Pink Floyd's music is overrated and mind-numbingly dull. Especially when compared to Tull. But that begs the more important question: Why on earth woud you feel lonely and isolated here, of all places? After all, The Jethro Tull Board is probably the most friendly site on the internet. Just look at what everyone else has been saying in this thread! Jeff

So funny I forgot to laugh. I'd like this board more if there were more Roger Waters' fans like me.

So, feelings of alienation and isolation are ignored, then? LOL I was going to comment, but then I thought that would deprive you of your feelings of alienation and isolation, and I didn't want to do that to you.

AN ODE FOR THE JETHRO TULL BOARD (with apologies to Wm. Blake's 'Jerusalem')
There was a band in ancient times, Graced with a bard upon the stage, Who perched with one leg o'er his knee -- Flute humming mad-dog Fagin rage!
Damned by critics (in endless whine), Still shone upon the music scene! And was Jethro Tull jamming there, Upon this pleasant Velvet Green!

It's a pity Waters didn't have the same copmmercial success as the 'watered down' Floyd, after the split - [excuse the very poor pun]. I think most of his work deserves it, also a shame that he seemingly lost the plot with Floyd members over the last few years they were together.
I saw the 'Pro's & Cons' gig at Earls Court, it wasn't well received, unlike the Radio KAOS gig at Wembley which was pretty stunning visulally.
Last time I saw Water's was at the Berlin, 'WALL' gig in 1991. Well worth the trip and the gig was pretty spectacular, although a few of the guests were not up to the mark.
Several chunks of the former berlin wall and a few other momentos returned with me after that gig, including several chunks of the real wall. Since then I've never maanged to get to see any shows, had tickets for the greatest hits show, a couple of years ago, but couldn't make it on the night.
Although I did go to Live 8 for the 'reunion' gig.

Well being young most of my peers and friends aren't really into Tull (some don't even know them), though I introduced a few of them to Tull. It wasn't until here that I was able to talk about Tull with others. Even if you are all old. Just kidding. Ha.
