Ever have a strange dream involving Tull? If so, please share. I'll tell mine a little later.

Ok I don't know if I remember this exactly it's been a few years...in 2004 I was seeing Tull in late Nov I think...so in my dream I think Tull wouldn't come out and play until someone served them a Thanksgiving dinner so I went and prepared a turkey and rolled it out on this little cart...or something to that effect. Another dream I had about Dan in a clown suit and he was married to Shona...I probably have more...can't remember them right now...

You know......Turkey Tull. I can definitely see Dan showing up in someone's dream dressed in a clown suit.....and he was talking to Shona quite a bit after the Schenectady show. Jeff

Several years ago I had a dream that I was visiting Ian at his farm in England. He had a racquetball court on the premises and we played a game together. He kicked my ass. He was running up (and down) the walls to hit the ball. I just thought "who is this freaking guy?" A great musician who is also a jock.

Wonder what it means? Perhaps instead of a rubber ball, you were constantly firing questions at him. And he had answers for everything. Jeff

OMG, for the longest time I had the same dream and it went like this: I have great seats at a show, but for some reason, hardly anyone shows up. Ian then refuses to go on with the show and I am running after him saying things like "but you have your money, who cares if no one is here, just play"!! Once I sat in on a sound check via a radio station promotion, I never had that darn dream again!!

Not a Tull dream but worth reporting: my college roommate woke up one morning and announced that, in dreamland, he had witnessed 'Granny', from The beverly Hillbilies, sing the grateful dead song 'Sugaree', word for word...and that she has really nailed it.

Sorry to drag this back out. But. I had a dream at or around Christmas, that I got Tull tix as a gift (which I didn't) and they were from Dan, to go see a show in New Jersey in the summer. So Kenneth refused to go with me because football was on television so I decided to make the trek alone. Well, actually I think I was bringing one child and I think it was E. And I brought out my GPS navigator thing (which I don't even own) to get directions on how to drive there and I was totally scared about driving alone...So there you have it...not really epic...but oh well...and this feels like an ending to this post for me....

It's perfectly fine to come back to an existing thread, which is the nice thing about our Tull Tales department. It can always be added to when somebody has an additional story or bizarre dream! I think your dream has underlying significance, Holly. It clearly represents your desire to take another Tull road trip and see Tull next summer with Dan, and of course since it would be in New Jersey, your desire to meet Paul there too. It also is symbolic of your wish that Kenny stop watching so much goddamn football as well as your natural maternal worries about the safety of your child during such a trip, which you would be nervous about taking alone. Dreams are the little deaths that we fall into when we falll asleep. Isn't that what Tull is all about? A sobering realization of the universe. (excuse my cannabis natured talk, good friends ) But anyway. I do think I dream in Tull a lot. Almost every time I listen to them.

I recall some years ago a few dreams in which I was "finally" listening to the brand new record from Jethro Tull. Of course there was no new Tull record which makes the music and lyrics I heard most interesting ....

2 dreams. Along time ago. One where I meet Ian and I ask him to clarify a lyric in Strip Cartoon. (I had trouble with "winks at me darkly".) In the dream Ian, closes his eyes as if he is accessing the info and he proceeds to sing "Black cat sat on a wall blah b lah blah blah blah." He smiles and walks away. I was so pissed off when I woke up.
The other one was much better because in it, Ian plays a "new" song in a style that would have fit nicely on Living in the Past (sort of like Nursie). I still have the tune in my head, so technically, I wrote it, but since I don't play guitar it'll never be heard.

Now I just need to work on my royalties.

Every so often I "resing" the song in my head (occasionally out loud) so I don't forget it. I should coax my son to learn guitar and then teach it to him.

You've got to get that recorded somehow, or the music written down, so you will never forget it. Now we need a good title for it. Wait a minute, I've got it! You can call it "Yesterday's Dreams." On 11/8/1977 the night before Tull played at the Sam Houston Coliseum I had a night mare. This was to be my first Tull show and I was excited and nervous. I dreamt that I was motoring to the show but never made the show. I just steadily traveled and never arrived. It was pure horror for a 13 year old.

Was it a bad dream or did you get to see Tull in Sam Houston at age 13? Dan
