as everyone blessed with eyesight can see heres me portrait of Ian Anderson. Done with color pencils. I felt like trying something new regarding to portraits, hence the color choises. hm... and actually, just recently i saw a dream that i was able to give this to Ian himself =P that would be most amazing ever. anyways. Hope ya like that and Im working on another tull piece right now. I can post that too if i ever get the damn thing finished. oh and i do have this one too. My friend reguested me to draw Ian and Martin with my weird cartoonish style and i have a hard time saying no when ever someone asks me to draw something cool. Dont Martins suit just make you feel all happy inside? .... no? You people are made of stone! that is all, have a nice day.....

Hi, Julia, welcome to The Jethro Tull Board and thanks for posting your Tull drawings, they are excellent! The second one reminds me somewhat of the caricatures that Don Martin once did for a Mad Magazine poster in the late seventies, which I believe we have somewhere here in our Tull Art department, along with a lot of other stuff. I look forward to seeing the new drawing you are working on, and to "talking" with you here in the future! Jeff

I wery much like his style (especially those damn sound effects you cant find anywhere else).

::)Finally. my newest piece... hm. im actually quite pleased with the result... O_0 Ive been doing a series styled like this featuring different songs of bands and i thought its about time for some Tull in that. it took me a while (a day) to choose what lyrics/song to feature here, since theres so many amazing ones. But anyways, as you can see i came to a conclusion. My god is without a doubt one of my favourite tull songs and i also love the lyrics meaningwise. people have manipulated religion and the concept of God to gain power. Organized religion is a bitch, telling everyone this and that is the only right way and if you disagree your wrong and goin to be all warm and cuddly in Hell for eternity... Who the fack are you to say yer God is the only right one and everything else is wrong? geez... one should respect others religions and acknowledge them... or at least thats how ive always seen the song =P now, i need a drink

That is truly awesome, Julia! I love the colors and the way you have the lyrics flowing out from the flute, almost as if Ian is some kind of snake charmer. And the way you did Ian's hair, it almost looks like a halo. Very cool.
I liked your analysis of the lyris too. For the same reasons, that is the song that really grabbed me the most when I first discovered Tull.
It's really a nice drawing!
Jeff

Very nice! Well done! I like the blue flute. A very unique blend of colours.
I agree Jeff - nice how the lyrics and music come out of the flute.
I was just listening to the original Aqualung version of the song yesterday.
Brian.

Awesome. You totally utilize the intensity of color in Ian with contrasts very well with the soft and fiery vibe of My God. Your artwork is unique and valuable to all Tull fans.

Keep up the great work, you express yourself quite well. These days it is even more relevant to the hypocrisy of political and religious extremism.

oh, thank you ...i seem to be saying that sentence a lot. but i cannae come up anythin better to say... or i could say "kiitos" which is "thank you" in finnish. =P hm... and i have more for you people... i drew the scetch of the following picture after the Jethro tull concert last week while sitting on a park bench ...waiting for my train. I actually drew quite many totally brainless Tull scteches (i was rather tired, on a drunk like state of mind, hyped over the show), but i quess this one was stupid enough to get drawn properly =P I see, his army seems to be lacking some motivation. aw maan, im totally weird... and im lovin it.

''My God'' is one of my favorites also. Mainstream religion is one big hypocrisy! And the graven image Catholic.

Chooky, that's great!! I like the background. Ian looks like he's getting high! LOL!!! Now if Ian Anderson ever caught a buzz, we would all be amazed. He might be putting out concept albums every month till the critics begged him to slow down. I do believe he drinks wine after a show which is fine too. Ian. Pass us that bottle will ya.

I've seen Ian with a Lowenbrau before. So he bundles his regrets, into a gesture of sorrow.
