Haha, it's okay, I believe I have a backup person.
Oh. And. I have to be very very careful. What's the one thing that happens to me every last time Tull was in town? Anyone who remembers, wins all the points, haha.

TM, yeah she was a handful. I think everyone was getting a little annoyed at us though. We were called diehards that night, right? We're like, "rain? what rain?" and it paid off. We got to chat with Martin. Even though Jen had gotten huffy, screamed at me and ran off. Just as well, she probably would've bitched at Martin. Speaking of Jen. I think she's backing out. Did I expect less? So Dan, you serious? Yes, she did get a little cranky at the end there.

Dan it doesn't matter, it is usually not that day it happens! haha, but within a week or so. The second time, I was in that show alone. And no, the backup is not female. haha. Like I said, doesn't matter. TM okay, so are you for real? lol... My backup is not a fan. He's more like, Omg, whatever, I'll go with you. And I have a (can't find a nicer word than...'cracked out') uncle that said he would go too. but yeah, we'll put that on my plan C list.

Nice, interested how it went. Was going to go at last minute but didn't work out between ticket and day work and having to house sit with pets!On a up side loaded a lot of hunting ammo here, played Crue/Salty Dog/ but geared my playlist to Tull classics which of course my favorites Rainbow Blues and other Warchild hits, that stuff was never on the original album!Hope the show was good and if the stars align perhaps one more Tull show in my future,if not 40th anniverseray(Aqualung and bands, caught both) at Red Rocks a damn good chapter/saga ending.

I had great tickets was in the orchestra pit, two rows that were added later. Which was great because we upgraded to 2nd row of the pit on the left hand side, and was a decent vantage place to view the concert.
Personally I liked the first half of the show although the second half was certainly very good. Hearing TAAB played in its entirety was more of a special event for me. Overall I would give this a solid B+ show. Ian voice was solid he had a few notes that came difficult but, Ryan did well helping with vocals and it was an important part to the enjoyability of the show. I think Ian would of had a difficult time singing all of TAAB without any help.
So in short Ian's vocals sounded the best in YEARS. It still amazes me how active Ian is, constant motion and prancing as only Ian can. He has a way which just draws people in and holds them there. Ian had no difficulty sharing his theatricality with Ryan who seemed to blend right in on the act, which I thought would of been a more difficult transaction. Since Ian has always been the one out front. They seemed to have a wonderful interplay with each other.
more to come later......
I have some pictures I will share after I download them from my phone

Also at the Lynn show [just behind Derek, but center - passed on the option to upgrade my second row seat to the later-added orchestra. didn't want to lose the aisle!] I thought the show was great, and really REALLY liked the TAAB2 portion. Outstanding, and much louder and more powerful than the disc. Walking out I heard a woman comment 'except for that last one, he didn't play any songs I know like Aqualung or Minstrel in the Gallery.' Never has the need to suppress a dope-slap been greater. Was surprised they encored with Locomotive Breath, I thought the encores were not going to happen.

Charlie, Great to hear you enjoyed the gig in the main, I know you had your doubts but it looks like they were overcome. Looking forward to hearing more and seeing the pics.

Everyone has a different perspective on Tull in general. If you can see a show that is not exactly what you expect, you may feel even better about it later. Fortunately, the energy of a Live Performance will usually impress you regardless of prior expectations. That's the world of You Tube and Bootlegs which we all crave and sometimes regret.

Thanks for the review...helped me get excited...
I know this tour consists of albums playing in completion, so it's different, but that's funny, the comment about the woman...because at one show a guy I didn't know said to me as we were exiting, "I didn't know all of those songs" and I said, "well, I did" ha.

Also went to the Lynn show w/ my son last night. Very good show, was great to hear TAAB1 in its entirety, especially a few bits not played in '72. Very odd how 'quickly' it went, he cut short the 'bom, bom, bom' end of side A and beginning of side B.... Also like TAAB2, that album's been growing on me. Ryan did very well, my son commented on how he thought he must have some theatre/stage experience. Acoustics were good, my 2 complaints w/ Lynn are 1) The floor slopes downward from the stage...I was 5 rows back and wasn't getting good clearance from the heads in front of me (as you'll see) and 2) bathrooms were pretty bad, in that one only had 2 urinals and toilets and the other even less (men's). While they didn't frisk you on the way in, I got shut down taking pix...even though I left my big 'pro' DSLR home, and was using a small Nikon V1...the security guy said it was 'pro' and couldn't use. Oh well. Here are a few pix I managed to grab before came over, and more here in my flickr set. You can see some head interference... Chris
glad you enjoyed the gig.
Nice pictures as well. Amazes me that they stop people taking photo's with half decent camera's but allow mobile phone use, a decent picture says more than a crap one does, and nowadays some mobiles are pretty sound in terms of resolution but their constant use, being held high to video whole songs can be much more distracting than a couple of decent cameras being used for still shots

Holly,
It doesn't look like I will be going to Mohegan Sun tonight. It was always a long shot, but my friend Dave Pincus, who said he was dying to go, never got back to me when I took him up on it and suggested that we do a a spur of the moment road trip. What a wimp.
Anyway, have a great time tonight, I was glad you were able to get the tickets through Charlie. We'll meet at a future show, without a doubt.
Great to see you back here on The Board!
Jeff

Oh Jeff, between you, Dan, and TM, I don't know what to do with you all! Oh and Tim. You guys may remember Tim from the other board, back in the day, his name was Zaphod or something. He was going to go with me but turned out he had to work late. I haven't seen him in four years since the 40th...here's me, him and my daughter, who is now five. This is in case anyone wants to say hi to me, I think I'm wearing this shirt again! but I have red hair now Pic is only kind of working so I'll fix it later...gotta go.. Special thanks to Charlie as well! Thanks for wishing me a good time everyone! I'm picking up a friend (yes, FINALLY found someone) to go in a little bit.

Glad to hear you had a good show.I guess they as they usually do let go of some day of sale excellent seats,ah well, was ambivalent about seeing anyhow, perhaps unless a future Tull tour perhaps my Red Rocks show should be my last, feels right in many ways but was also a bit interested in this,if Martin had come along would have had tix for all over the area!

So..after seeing everyone elses amazing pictures, I didn't think I should post any of my horrible pics or video. Then...I thought, what would a Tull board be without Holly posting her shitty Tull coverage.
So...thought I'd see if there was any interest.
But I had FUN! Loved every minute of the show and wished it could've gone on longer. So glad I didn't miss this.
