This may be something started before so I thought it might ring a bell. Tull Sheet Music. Living In The Past The Whistler Kissing Willie I can't play an instrument. I can't read music sheets. It must be the artwork.

I hope I'll get someone's help on this one: I've recently purchased a copy of Living in the Past's songbook. It's apparently in pretty good shape, but being a kinda old paperback, it seems the pages will fall apart if I try to open it too much (as would be necessary to read the music in it). Does any one have good scans of this book, or any suggestions on how to do them without tearing the book apart?

If they have a rare book collection they more than likely have a book scanner that will scan without having to push the book flat. They may not make it availavlbe to the publc but it never hurts to ask. It can be done.

I think it's split in about 3 parts I could possibly scan a song or 2 if there's something your looking to get into?

Thanks for the suggestions. I had no idea such kind of scanners existed, but as you said, I doubt they'll allow just anyone to use it. I'll try asking a friend of mine who works at a library, just in case... And Tulltapes, thanks for the offer, but as I said, I'm interested in most of it, at least, so I wouldn't want to bother you with scanning 116 pages for me. I actually have LIPT (the song) as sheet music, so I'm busy for a while, and it was much easier to read (since it was just two sheets of paper), but I scanned it anyway to keep some moisture from the flute to fall on it, or something like that. I'll see what I can do about this book. Hopefully I'll be able to post some good news soon

Thanks to Jordevi for bringing this old thread back from the dead. I have seen an old Tull songbook with a great pic of the Ladies with strings on the War Child tour. They were onstage with their white afro wigs. That was an awesome pic to see. If anyone has this, please try to post it in the future. ;D ;D I believe it is called "Jethro Tull Anthology" from 1974.

SO MUCH It is a great album--one of my favorites--perhaps it is time to revive a Stormwatch thread? By the way, I'm probably shooting in the dark here but does anyone know of any officially released mandolin tablature? I guess unofficial is just as good.

This cover looks very close to the songbook I remember from '75. I believe it was the same company. www.etsy.com/listing/38452521/rare-jethro-tull-anthology-songbook Here we have the hard-to-find Jethro Tull Anthology Songbook of sheet music for piano vocals, guitar chord diagrams. The songbook doesn't have a publishing date (believe to be 1971 or 1972), but each song has a copyright date at the bottom, and these range from 1968 to 1971. The book has in fair condition, it has obviously seen lots of use. The binding is solid, but there is significant wear to the cover, including some staining on the front and back covers and page edges. 117 pages. The songbook includes a biography of the band provided by Chrysalis. Great artwork on the front and back covers, and photos of the band inside. Includes 41 songs from the LP's "Stand Up", "This Was", "Benefit", and "Aqualung".

You could get an idea of some of the chords but not notation. It fell apart from excessive use and those blue pics were on my walls for years. Interesting that it was a Benefit book and the looks to have been re-issued as an all encompassing one, I'd never seen the Benefit version. On the other hand The Living In The Past book was excellent. Very accurate notation and detail like noting that Ian used a capo (on the third fret for most songs) I picked up the first lines of Bouree from it for my new flute, and on the piano learned By Kind Permission Of from it. It also fell apart from over use! I'd like to get ahold of a copy of it. Darin

Orion, plays in my head everytime I look into the star filled sky Home, Is just wonderfully sappy sweet Old Ghosts, some of the best lyrics Dark Ages the signature song on the album Elegy, just beautiful Somethings on the Move, has been the best way to open a show, done a couple of times I think.

Somewhat ambitious album came together very well. Very successful in its atmosphere.
