My favorite tracks are: 1- "Back to the Family" 2- "We Used to Know" 3- "Reasons for Waiting"
Of course when Tull played "Sossity/Reasons for Waiting/Sossity" live, it became more of a classic.

I think "Jeffery goes to Leicester (?) Square" is the only track on that album I wouldn't call a favorite. We Used to Know is at the top, For A Thousand Mothers is a big favorite also. Once I really paid attention to the lyics on that and realized it was about Ian and Tull becoming a success it hit harder. We Used to Know is about the same "slowly upstairs faster down" Same with Look into the Sun, being about the John Evan Band abandoning him in 67/68. It is such a solid album. I thought these songs were about women and a love but....he was always able to inject a bit of ambiguity into his lyrics so as to leave the listener to fill in the blanks and make it their own interpretation. The Sossity/Reasons medley was a staple in the live show in 70 thru late 71 and I was so happy when they brought it back in the mid 90s. Darin Cody

It's just a fantastic album, and the one my friends at school listened to and the first I heard. I used to listen to this and Paranoid. Those were the "nice and simple" days! I made a pirate radio station and played those two albums on it, using my Sharp 5" reel-to-reel tape recorder as a source. We rode around on our bikes listening to it, but you could only pick it up a few blocks away!
The review really didn't say much about the songs or the (quite reasonable) recording quality.

absolutely one of my favourite Tull albums. Its proggy, its folky, its rocky, it even has a nice bluesy touch. And its a good album to listen when your drunk off yer ass (yes, that is wery important guality to have in music) it has everything. My favourites are A new day yesterday, We used to know, Look into the sun and nothing is easy (Cornicks bass always catches my attention in that one. brilliant) oh and I also love the artwork of the album. Sad how so many bands these days dont put much of an efford to album artworks. I like to see artworks that go hand in hand with the music not just some random paintings or shots of the band.

Stand Up may be my favorite Tull album, I love it. The last two minutes of Back to the Family rocks as hard as anything I've ever heard, Martin's bluesy wailing sends shivers every time I hear it, just exquisite.

I think this album would have been a fair bit better and more advanced with the Singles included. Living in the past and Sweet dream are 2 of the best tracks on the remaster. These songs really compliment Look into the sun and Jeffrey goes to Leicester square. I've never been much of a fan of Back to the family or For 1000 mothers.

Not a huge fan of We used to know either. Good song, but a bit simplistic in composition for me. The 2 disc remaster is quite strong though with the bonus tracks and carnegie hall stuff.

1) Nothing is Easy 2) Fat Man 3) Reasons for Waiting Throw in as 4) Sweet Dream if we are referring to the remaster.
One of the top 3 or 4 albums Tull ever released.

Good choices, Jim! "Reasons for Waiting" is my favorite from that album, but it's all good stuff! No filler tracks at all. David

Hell yeah, that jam would wake christ from the dead. Ummm, I thought he already "rolled the stone away"? Just after he was roused by Martin Barre's epic riffing.

Even though it`s not my favourite album, I can safely say that in terms of consistency Stand Up is easily the best Tull work. Find me a weak song on it. You can`t! My personal favourite from this one is Reasons For Waiting.

Any chance to see a new vinyl remastered edition just like the recent vinyl editions of TAAB, Aqualung and Benefit?
