Witch's Promise is not only one of Tull's most beautiful songs, it is also fascinating because the narrator is looking down on, and commenting upon, the behavior of the man and the woman in the song, sort of like a Greek chorus, speaking, in turns to the heartbroken male and the lying, deceitful woman. I wonder what the inspiration for the song was.
