Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are pleased to announce another Q&A, this time with Former Tull and current Martin Barre's 'A New Day' Bassist Jonathan Noyce.
Jonathan has played with many diverse musical combos, as well as Tull, he has been involved with Gary Moore, The Divine Comedy and Archive.
Take some time out to get to know Mr Noyce a little better.

WOW I can not believe I did not see this Q and A section until now.. I must of lost my spectacles...
First off I would like to thank Jonathan for taking some of our questions..
My first one would be... Are you planning to play with Martin in any upcoming shows?
And my follow up question would be
Are you surprised with all of the fallout between Martin and Ian and do you think it will be a permanent split?
Lastly when will we see your solo work released as a CD or as downloads.
Thanks for your time...
Charlie form Boston

Dear Jon,
hello from Germany!
I like the tracks from your "coolhunter" site. Is there a possibility to buy them? On CD? I can ´t find the album "leaven". I especially like the track "Everyone is here now part I". It reminds me (for example) of "Trentemoeller (e.g. "miss you"). Recommendations from you?
Through the "Divinities" Tour in 1995 you had an instrumental spot together with Doane Perry. It was great!!! I think part of it is shown on his website. On his site it is called "Balindians". Is there a proper recording of this track including you? Where to get?
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rainer
P.S: During the Martin Barre Tour in 1998 in Bamberg- Zapfendorf i got a signature from you for my niece who was a "Take That" fan. She was happy. Thanks!

Hi Jon,
Thanks for taking part in our Q&A.
If you had to come up with your most memorable touring gig and studio recording with Jethro Tull (that is PG rated of course) what would they be and why?
Also, some quickies:
Favorite Tull studio track (with you on bass)?
Favorite Tull track played live?
Thank you! Paul from New Jersey

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker here for awhile now and would like to ask Jonathan some questions.
I would like to know how he got the position with Ian during Divinities, and if he had to audition, what that was like?
I am also curious about what he's doing now, having read claims by someone who seems to have a prominent role in a fan-group called the Tullianos, who has gone on record stating that Jon left Martin's New Day over a money dispute, and Jon has a history of doing such things. I would like to hear Jon's side in this.
Thank you. Ron

Ron, welcome aboard, glad to see one of our guests taking the plunge and joining us at front of house.
Thanks for the questions and resurrecting this thread, I'm sure that this will prompt a few more questions and a bit of a debate.
In the meantime, feel free to weigh in to other threads, we're never shy of tackling the tough issues here.

Thank you Quizz Kid. While I'm usually content to sit back and enjoy the views of the many Tull fans throughout the world, I was a bit taken aback at the shots being leveled against Jon publicly. It would be remiss of me to not mention that these comments did not occur here. I've always viewed Jon as an underrated component of Tull's rhythm section during his stint with Tull, and somewhat under-appreciated by the fans. I would like to give him the opportunity to set the record straight, instead having his name thrown into the mud by some undignified individual.

Jonathan
I suppose some basic background questions wouldn't go amiss.
In addition to Ron's question about getting the gig with Ian, how about sharing your views on the work you have done with other diverse artists like Neil Hannon's Divine Comedy, Rodriguez and Archive as well as any additional collaborations like those with Martin and others.
How did you get started, your own musical background and upbringing, first bass? and what's your current equipment list?
