[glow=purple,5,300]Anoushka Shankar[/glow]Although she was only a temporary member of Tull, she was a huge influence on Ian.

I dunno Jim, a huge influence? Possibly he has said as much, and doubtless respects fully the facility of her entire ensemble, some few I believe with deeper experience then her own. It would sort of be like saying Ian was deeply influenced by Son of Coltrane Ravi Coltrane, a marvelous player worthy of respect,(but as nearly always is the case when Dad is that legendary as her Father Ravi is, kind of sentenced to second fiddle status) but I suspect it is the milieu of Indian culture generally that has appeal to him, as well as the indigenous culture's of anywhere in the world. But clearly India holds a special interest, as it does to me. Now to say that of her Father Ravi, that would be a little more believable, but also entirely possible that Ian has said as much about Anoushka....though I doubt it. Having said that, I dearly wanted her to be involved in both the finished product of A Change of Horses,(as well as Tea with the Princess) and probably just assumed Martin and Doane would be around. So pleased am I with the current finished product, that if it is not revisited I won't mind. Would be highly intrigued by a recording between the two ensembles though.

Jethro Tull and Anoushka Shankar played a concert in Mumbai that was originally postponed by the attacks in the city.
