[glow=red,2,300]The Perfect Tull Concert[/glow]With all due respect to all Tull Fans who have been to many more concerts than myself, this is my personal review of what happened in Asheville, North Carolina last night. For years of seeing Jethro Tull evolve into the band with many members, this current line-up is Superb. If Ian calls it his solo act or "Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson Band", I could care less. The music was vintage Tull including a phenomenal production of "Thick As A Brick" from start to finish. As seen on You Tube, there are incredible moments of Full Tull Glory with hilarious moments of humor. The first set will always be compared to what happened in 1972, but for me this was an emotional breakthough. The sound quality, the vocals, the lighting, the video projections, the prostate exam, the music. Nothing could be finer to my ears or mind. I was overwhelmed by what took place before my eyes. This is no more Broadway or a Musical than the original production in '72. As for the second set with TAAB 2 in it's entirety, this was as close to pure Rock as any concert since 1973. This new album translates well as a sequel with no equal. The Live performance was beyond expectations. I wish I could be in Durham tonight with Teacher (Metta) and her cousin April. We had a wonderful adventure which I will elaborate in future posts. Tonight they will be totally enthralled with the second show at the Durham Performing Arts Center. More stories and pics to share. I was not arrested and hooted all night long with the rest of a less than full auditorium. My first image is dedicated to Pat (Quizz Kid). Great post Jim, and thanks for the Boy Scout Manual pic. I knew we could count on you.
Glad you had a great time.
I have to admit that I saw this show only 2 days after seeing Bruce at Giants Stadium which is a very tough act to follow.

Just want to add that I saw them the night after Asheville in Durham,NC. The show was a delight. The band performed superbly, the sound was great and Ian's voice was strong. Ian was full of energy and humor. It was a brilliant concert and I am over joyed and haven't gone to bed yet. Thanks to Ian for bringing us this show.

I realize Bruce is still "The Boss". However, Ian Anderson is my "CEO" of Rock and Roll. ;D Tull Rules!

The guys were picking up bras and condoms off the stage earlier. Asheville is a very promiscuous place. pro·mis·cu·ous [pruh-mis-kyoo-uhs] adjective - Characterized by or involving indiscriminate mingling or association, especially having sexual relations with a number of partners on a casual basis.

Here is my 33 year old son Jason and best reason for me to buy an extra Tull ticket. ;D Jason went to see Tull in '96, '99, '02, '03 and now 2012. He was very happy to sit with his dear old Dad.
