Hi Metta, The issue is not about being a Tull fan - simply message board etiquette. All caps, bold, and large colored are seen as an attempt at getting attention and thereby shouting other people down. Those should be used for emphasis only. They should not be the norm. it's no different than if someone types in a teenager texting style. no caps, abbrv words, and replacing words with numbers 2 speed 1's message. We are simply asking for a little common courtesy, that's all. Thanks, and I look forward to your continued participation. Paul Once again, I am sorry for anything I did that offended anyone, it was not my intention. It will not happen again and I do not plan on leaving the board. I enjoy hearing what everyone has to say. I don't think anybody's necessarily "offended" Metta. Aside from Jeff's personal opinion about it, I think his larger point was being sensitive to the fact that having Ian possibly looking in (or members of his family) might take it wrong. He HAS been a bit prickly in the past about his privacy. Out in public he wants to be invisible. I know, for instance, that if he is approached while eating? You may as well expect to be greeted without a smile....or worse. So out in public he WISHES to be just another guy. I thought the pictures were kind of cool and thought it was great you had the good fortune to run into him and have a good reaction. I see Jeff's point though and having them up here might be questionable in Ian's eyes. We dont want him to see red when he thinks of TJTB. So no worries here, don't want you feeling bad about it. Darin

Thanks for the info Paul. Had I known that the post in question would not have looked like that... I'll investigate some of the options further. IS there a sarcasm button? Great question. Actually we use red type on another message board when we are joking or do not wish to have our posts taken seriously. Below I'm using maroon. i.e. I enjoy reading the drivel over at the Borem.

Thats a great idea, your example is so fashion forward and informative. Maroon it is. I think back on my hundreds of posts and wonder how much would actually be in black. You probably didnt realize just how funny I really am! Darin

I enjoy hearing what everyone has to say. Metta, we are happy to have you here, and Jim too. We don't want to dampen anyone's enthusiasm. The only thing is, we were concerned that the board was becoming swamped by too much of a good thing, and with all the images of Halloween, etc., people were have trouble following the discussion threads, because they were becoming buried in an avalanche of other stuff. The photos of Ian going about his business in public that you posted.....I honestly felt those were a little too much like stalking, even though you may not have realized it could come across that way, and I know you had good intentions in wanting to share them with us. But knowing how Ian values his privacy, I'm not sure that he would be to pleased to see photos like that on the board, in the event that he or, more likely James, were to be looking in. Thank you for understanding. Jeff

This is rich, I mean I am familiar with the expression about the pot calling the kettle black, I am just having a hard time figuring out who is the pot and who the kettle is
