I think he posted a link for me to watch a video of him before and I was like, "Ok, yeah he does sound a lil' bit like him" this one he sounds hauntingly amazingly exactly like him. Wow. I think his forte is the early Tull tracks, eh? Has the demeanor down pretty well. Ryan may have a nice voice but for sounding like IA...well, here and there but not as much, maybe it wasn't the intent...don't know. Husband sounds more like IA than Ryan, he does better at 80's Tull though. I keep telling him to start a tribute band. He's not feeling it.

I have to admit I thought the Crest of a Knave vocals suited Ian very well.

I'd say both...Kenneth has a really good singing voice and he doesn't use it enough. Does do Fires at Midnight well and that's 70's so...it's touch and go, but this guy has early Tull NAILED. Crest of a Knave is great and I like the smooth sounding vocals. But the vocals in APP is really what gives me chills.

James thumps the tubs - TaaB - Pic Ryan O'Donnell What a great shot! Are there any vids or boots of the TAAB 1 & 2 shows that utilize James on the kit? (Or even best of's) Darin

Hi all.The concert in Zurich and was very nice. Go well, you said to me ... Having already witnessed three other 2 TaaB, the only difference I could see is that at the moment are so "experienced" throughout the show, which goes really well. It was nice of Ian's having mentioned a song from TaaB 2, after the greetings and bows to the audience, saying, "don't forget to call your mum" since we were almost the day of mother's day. He could forget it this subtlety, I guess, 'cause in g.b. this feast is in March. Two more concerts are waiting for me next month in my Country : Torino and Verona.

Glad to hear Ian the band were sounding good, especially since I assume James is on drums? You are fortunate to see them so many times. It's looking like I will not be making a show this year.

Thanks Pat. Very cool seeing his kit from that angle. I checked them out on the web but I don't see any lucite kits listed. But their prices in general look very reasonable making them very enticing! 7.3.6.7.3.6.

7.3.6.7.3.6. Scott Hammond's mobile number ? Any other whimsical suggestions? It's a difficult passage in TAAB that has been giving James some trouble. 7 bars of 4, 3 bars of 4 and 6 bars of 4 then repeat. Ian came out when no one was around and whipped out his magic marker and gave him a little cheat sheet.......

I heard a snippet from the Turin show the other day, anyone else heard it? Not sure what was off, but it didn't sound too clever.

Yes. I saw another pic from Italy from the back of the stage which showed many empty seats during the encore. Very surprising.

Ian at Symphony Hall in Phoenix tonight! "He’ll play Jethro Tull’s “Thick as a Brick” in its entirety, followed by “Thick as a Brick 2,” the sequel he released last year as a solo act to mark the 40th anniversary of the original album’s release. When a tour in support of the sequel was launched in the U.K. last April, that was the first time Anderson, or any member of the group, had played “Thick as a Brick” in its entirety since 1972, the year it spent two weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s album chart.
Details: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10. Symphony Hall, 75 N. Second St., Phoenix.
$43-$128. 800-745-3000, d annyzeliskopresents.com.

on july 13th I drove to Kansas City to see the TAAB 2013 tour show for the 2nd time. the band and ian were just as polished and tight a they were in Tulsa last fall, maybe even a bit better. seems as though they played for about 15 mins. longer this time around. also the Kauffman center was a fab. place to see a concert (maybe the best I've been to). as I was leaving all I heard was words of praise from everyone about how good the show was. because I had become more familiar with TAAB 2 that part of the show I enjoyed more this go around. as I was going towards the theatre I noticed the infamous "westboro Baptist church" outside protesting. I asked why they would be protesting the concert?? one of the adult members ...a loudly proclaimed..."ian Anderson lyrics promote fag behavior"...pretty silly because I'm quite sure they would not know a fag from a fountain pen.....maybe it was that "swing it far" song...ha...ha...ha....jsm
