In addition to the TAAB2 tracks that made an immediate impression and remain my faves, there are a few that have been steadily growing on me each time I listen to the album. Chief amongst these is "Swing It Far." It impresses me more with each play and I find the lyrics, melody, and even the acoustic/electric shifts quite impressive. There are tasty little acoustic guitar bits, and I like Ryan O'Donnell's vocals, too...he should have been used more on the album! (Incidentally, this was one of the tracks dropped from the set on October 4th due to the casino's time restrictions, so I STILL haven't seen "Swing It Far" live! ARGH!) Does anyone else have tracks that grew on them? Happy New Year to everyone, by the way.

Regardless of how this song represents some controversial ideas, the music and lyrics are very good. "There comes a point when deep conviction bears down hard on who you are. Pointless to don cloak of denial, get the lead out and swing it far..... swing it far..... swing it far..... swing it far..... swing it far..... swing it........."Being who and what you are is not easy. A very emotional part of this album indeed.

I definitely agree with the sentiment. This song in particular I wasn't particularly fond of (not that I didn't like it, but I didn't prefer it to most of the others. Now the more I listen to the album (which unfortunately was buried in my recent move! grrrrrr!) this track is really starting to stand out to me.
Very good point Jim, this is one of the best and most important parts of the album in my opinion.
I have yet to get used to Ryan's vocals on this, but it'll happen.

Kismet is THE stand out song for me.
Several other notable tracks that make this a pretty special album in the Anderson/Tull catalogue, However, I still don't think of it as a prog rock album or even a continuous piece, but it's a worthy follow up to TaaB, without doubt.

Everytime I go cruising with this on, I feel like playing the instruments on my steering wheel. This song makes me hungry too and Ian sings like he's had a few beers (HobGoblins). Caution: Try to find a road with less traffic.

"Kismet" is one of my favorites, to be sure. But some of the others have been slow growers, which is not a bad thing!
