Well, who hasn't done at least one of these? Tricky one to think of a Tull track. But here is Glasgow's own Frankie Miller musing on Alcatraz from one of my favourite albums of his 'The Rock' recorded in SanFran in '75. Alcatraz was (allegedly) escape proof, but how difficult could it be if Clint Eastwood could dig his way out of it with a spoon? and from his latest album (The Long Way Home) Guilty of the Crime If you don't know Frankie's music check out his website... www.frankiemiller.net/There is a Tull connection though in as much as Frankie played with Clive Bunker (below) in 'Jude' formed in '71. No recordings exist ( I think ) but see this link for more about the short-lived 'Jude' ... www.procolharum.com/99/rt_jude.htmRegards to all Icy L

Borstal Boys - The Faces
Take it, cell block five, how I hate Bromide With your coffee in the morning makes you so sterile The corner gang never made a man of me boys, no
You know the walls are taller than the inmates scheme There's no one here that's more than seventeen Bet your life there's a riot tonight in the mess hall, listen
A letter from your home town makes you sad You read it when the warden's had a second laugh He said, "Sentimental rubbish ain't got no place in here, boy"
See the years roll on by, such a senseless waste of time What a way to reform, call out your number Who's a nonconformer? Not me baby, oh yeah
Shakey Brown didn't hang around When a Molotov, it didn't do its stuff He went back in there and said it with a sawed-off shotgun
You know Poker Sam couldn't lose a hand If he did he was hit by a downtown tram Or crushed in the path of a moving elevator, elevator
Oh, see the years roll on by, what a senseless waste of time What a way to reform, call out your number Who's a nonconformer? Not me baby
Oh, when I get out I'll get straight If this old world gives me half a break But, if you see me in the corner with a chip on my shoulder Don't blame me, don't blame me baby, no no
Got to make a break for the county line

The Knife - GĂ©nesis
I'll give you the names of those you must kill, All must die with their children. Carry their heads to the palace of old, Hang them high, let the blood flow. Now, in this ugly world break all the chains around us, Now, the crusade has begun give us a land fit for heroes, Now -

Hey Joe - Jimi Hendrix
Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand? Hey Joe, I said where you goin' with that gun in your hand? Alright. I'm goin down to shoot my old lady, you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man. Yeah,! I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady, you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man. Huh! And that ain't too cool.

"Big Riff And Mando" Jethro Tull
Marty loved the sound of the stolen mandolin. Somebody took it on a dare in the night-time.

'Two young cops handing out a beating, know how to hurt, and leave no mark'
I gathered that the police who were beating, the fact that no mark left was important, that they shouldn't have been doing what they were doing. That was my interpretation, don't know if it's accurate.

Crime In The City - Neil Young
Well, the cop made the showdown He was sure he was right He had all of the lowdown From the bank heist last night His best friend was the robber And his wife was a thief All the children were killers They couldn't get no relief The bungalow was surrounded When a voice loud and clear Said, Come on out with your hands up Or we'll blow you out of here. There was a face in the window The TV cameras rolled Then they cut to the announcer And the story was told.

I'm Leavin' You (Commit A Crime)
You put poison in my coffee Instead of milk or cream You poison my coffee In with that milk and cream You're the meanest woman I think I've most ever seen
You mix my drink With a can of Red Devil lye You mix my drink With a can of Red Devil lye Then you sit right down Watchin' me, hopin' I might die

Three bodies lying there does Patty see And another man named Bello moving around mysteriously "I didn't do it" he says and he throws up his hands "I was only robbing the register I hope you understandI saw them leaving" he says and he stops "One of us had better call up the cops" And so Patty calls the cops And they arrive on the scene with their red lights flashing In the hot New Jersey night. Murder In The Red Barn - Tom Waits
There was a murder in the red barn Murder in the red barn
The trees are bending over The cows are lying down The atumn's taking over You can hear the buckshot hounds The watchman said to Reba the loon Was it pale at Manzanita Or Blind Bob the raccoon? Pin it on a drifter They sleep beneath the bridge One plays the violin And sleeps inside a fridge There was a murder in the red barn A murder in the red barn
Someone's crying in the woods Someone's burying all his clothes Now Slam the Crank from Wheezer Slept outside last night and froze Road kill has its seasons Just like anything It's possums in the autumn And it's farm cats in the spring There was a murder in the red barn A murder in the red barn
Now thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house Or covet thy neighbor's wife But for some Murder is the only door through which they enter life

Bob Mould Band - A Good Idea
... Then he said, "Why don't we lay in the water Let the water run over me" And she grinned and she said Now she said, now she said "Now that's a good idea", she said, she said "Now that's a good idea", she said, she said "Now that's a good idea", she said, she said "Now that's a good idea", she said, she said He held her head high in his hands He held her down deep in the stream He saw the bubbles and matted hair Mixed in with seaweed she started to scream ...

Great find Teacher Thanks for posting this video Remy , I was a little pushed for time and did not have a chance to look for one. I immediately thought this song when I saw subject of the month. I should have known to look in your catalog of Tull youtubes!
