I have seen Tull so many times I honestly have lost count.My first time I saw Tull was in 75 and I missed only one tour and that was in 02. In my early years I would catch them at least 3 times a tour and sometimes many more. I have on 2 occasions met Ian and the boys ...(I know Darin, and Mothfairy, I have to do my story)
Like others have said I do not think it really matters how many times you see one group or performer. If you like them and keep going back and supporting them is all the matters. I have seen other artist multiple time Genesis/Peter Gabriel/Phil Collins/, Eric Clapton. Pink Floyd, Procol Harum,Robin Trower,I have been lucky enough to meet some wonderful musicians as well, Richie Havens, Richard Thompson,Willy Porter I can not remember all of the artist I have seen.
My music collection is vast and covers every spectrum of music. The only genre you will not find in my collection is rap, gospel, and disco. Ever other genre is covered.
But I do not think it matters if you see an artist or not as long as you like the music. The only thing I will say is if you do not get to see certain artists live you are missing the entire picture. The stage show of Tull up until the the mid 90's was always top notch.

I wish I saw so many times I lost count.
02 was my second show...and my first time being photographed by IA on stage. For some reason when he whips that camera out, I'm a target. I know for awhile he had put some of those online but I hope that first one never makes it...I'm pretty sure my face was like, "Ermagahd! What's he doing?!" haha.
I think it's a little odd that normally I don't care for jazz too much. But love Tull.;
I think if you write your meeting IA stories and then a story from each and every show and include what every person in the audience was wearing and had for dinner that night, you may still be done before TM.
Haha, I kid. TM's photos in his blog about the event are all the reasons for waiting.

Well, we could sell the Boston tickets and get some tickets to "So Many Times I Lost Count" together, all three of us.

Oh I guess I never answered Tommies question.... Tull and Ian, I think its at 35? Beginning with the 71 tour plus twice more this year. Bringing the score to 39. One will be in Boston with some board friends! First time I will have ever flown to another state for a concertt. Really it's to meet and spend time with friends I've met on the internet.......do you think this is a good idea?? You know the premise of the question is stupid and mis leading, (not that I need to even answer the dimwit question) And that is that we may be wasting our time and money on too much Tull and not enough of......Jack Bruce (?) Well I've seen a hundred or so other great bands thru out the years and alot of them either don't exist any longer or don't tour every year. Tull is one I will always see everytime they come around. Also I dont go see Tull at the exclusion of anything else, one reason being ...their isn't anything else like them! I see a lot of jazz and jazz fusion but a wide variety of stuff for sure. Living in LA I've been lucky that even though Ian is not fond of the place (We understand but...) he always swings thru. We always pay his way home. I think I might have missed "So Many Times I Lost Count" I have always disliked them, I may have seen them with "I Cant Remember" opening for them. A forgettable concert. (But I think Tommie was there! The fucktard) Darin

Yeah, this was a bait and switch.
I thought you never saw So Many Times I Lost Count? Or "I Can't Remember" or maybe "You Couldn't Remember" that's the problem. They're similar to "I Can't" but a little better. Or a little worse. I Can't Remember. Twice. A little bit more close to not really similar but a really good but crappy opening act is "Who Cares?" haha.
I've said this before. But when I was a teen in the mid to late 90's I liked a lot of different bands. The Doors, The Dead, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin. Every band I liked usually someone had died and there was usually no way to see the band anymore. I was used to it. I started to like Tull and seeing Tull in concert hadn't crossed my mind. I didn't know a lot about them at the time, my internet was sort of primitive. All my favorites had people that died, I figured IA was probably not alive. Then I had heard that he was alive and still playing and I was thrilled. Oh heck yes. Am I the only one who in this way sort of feels lucky to still be able to go to a show?

First saw Tull in 1971 during Aqualung tour at MSG in New York City. Couldn't even offer a guess as to how many times since (put it this way, I've contributed handsomely to Ian putting on the West Wing at his Estate..lol). Met him at Macy's in NYC during his salmon days... best show had to be the Vermont "Barn Show" where TM and I sold t-shirts. Ahhh, spin me back down the years.......
