Yes indeed. Ian's flute solo featured in the video you posted is some of the best Jethro Tull footage anywhere.
His flute solo is passionate, desperate, angry, loving, ridiculous, serious, he is both laughing and weeping all the while. Evidence that he is a true artists no matter what medium.

Absolutely! An audience of over 400,000 people and he pays no heed to conforming with the status quo of musicians there. His performance is totally unique and personal. And in the end it pays off, the audience is captivated by his emotional expression--and here we are over 40 years later still captivated.

I absolutely love that video. And indeed that solo is bloody captivating. Couldnt get me ears...and eyes of it. I also wish there was a better guality video of this to be found. has always been one of my favourite tull clips ever was also one of the first ones i ever watched after gettin to know tulls music a bit and i was all "maaaan, this dude is insane! must. play. again."
