With TM's encouragement I decided to continue the song theme of the month, and we'd better hurry, it's already March 8th! I thought with St. Patrick's Day coming up some songs about drinking, alcohol, being drunk, etc. might be fun. I listen to songs about drinking more than I actually do it, so I bet I'm going to win at this! I think I was really just looking for an excuse to use this video that I'll start with-TM you like GS right? I didn't have to start with Tull, right? It's my first time so....oh well. Gaelic Storm - Don't go for the one Edited because I forgot to say who it was

Ah, perfect as this should make for a great track listing! And yes I do like Gaelic Storm and will post one of my favorites. Johnny Tarr:
It was nine in the morning on a cold and rainy night, Johnny rolled into the Castle Bar, looking to get tight He had money in his pocket, he had whiskey in his eye, He said: Get up off your asses and set up the glasses, I'm drinking this place dry

Yes!! Flogging Molly.
I wish I could appreciate a good beer or fine wine but I always drink what my friend's husband calls 'bitch brew' or a Malibu and pineapple. I haven't had a drink in months. If I did it would be tomorrow when I could go see this band:
But it is my son's second birthday.
Happy Man- The Prodigals
'There's a pint upon the table and another on the way and with the girl beside me, I'm a happy man today'
The guitarist shown just died a month or so ago in a freak accident.
TM, I know we had this conversation before, Me, GS, Johnny Tarr, embarrassing myself at the show.
Edited to add another
'I was mad for jigs and reels, drinking dirty big pints of stout'
Funky Ceili - Black 47
Incidentally, this is the band mentioned in the other thread who the singer yelled at me, lol.

Actually GS just played literally less then 15 minutes from my house last week, but I found out too late. Plus there was no bar. How can you go see GS without a bar!

Our first IA tune, or as some would call it Jethro Tull.

Was there literally no drinks? Because sometimes they just make a bar up if the place doesn't have one.
GS was introducing the song Johnny Tarr and I let a belch go when the place was silent and I had no idea how loud it would be. The place was ages old and had fabulous acoustics probably from back when that's all they had to rely on, and several thousand erupted in laughter and Patrick fell down laughing on stage.

I was thinking of trying to keep this until the end of the month, but as it's one of my favourite fairport renditions I thought WTF, add it now.
Fairport Convention covering Leonard Cohen's Closing Time.
And Leonard Cohen's version
My Money's on Johnnie Walker beating Ron Bacardi

willie, I thought of that one yesterday when it came on my Pandora! Then it fell off my radar.
Ok, so someone has to make a list. Is that me?
So, it's my son's birthday and he shares a name with this song-
The Dubliners and The Clancy Brothers do Finnegan's Wake
Love this version
Edited because...would help if the video worked.
And because I haven't posted any Tull! For shame, for shame.
